Interesting. So is there any trade scenario with the Lakers that actually ends up being good for the Spurs? If so, and the Lakers are desperate enough to offer it, I feel like the Spurs should just take it. Unless the lakers offer us their unprotected first round picks for the next decade, none of the guys they could offer us are that interesting. Randle is Zach Randolph, solid on the block and a good rebounder, but no range, undersized, and he plays below the rim. Kuzma has much more offensive potential but he's also not a rim protector, doesn't rebound at a high rate for a PF, and what I saw of him I was unimpressed with his defense. Ingram is very interesting. Lots of skills with the ball for a guy that's 6'9", however at this point he seems pretty inefficient. He shot 39% from 3 last season, but that was on less than 2 attempts per game and he was at 29% as a rookie. He also shoots only 65% from the free throw line, which leads me to believe that he's closer to a 29% 3 point shooter than he is 39%. I also have some serious doubts about his ability and willingness as a defender. Hart is another Danny Green. Could be a really good 3 and D guy, but won't be more than that.
Hart does nothing for me when we have Green, Murray, and Lonnie.

If all this is true then it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he goes to some major market, never regains form and is booed. The grass isn't always greener on the other side and the SA faithful love him.
Particularly if Kawhi is communicating that the Lakers are the only team that can sign him. If that's the case, the only issue is how important is it to the Lakers to get him now via trade rather than after next season via free agency. If the Lakers need Kawhi to set up signing Lebron, Chris Paul, or whoever else, then they may offer at least some value for him.Guitarsoup said:

But yes, absent getting another top 5 player in return, the Spurs won't get fair value for Kawhi regardless.
The Spurs had a deal in place in 92 to trade Sean Elliott for Charles Barkley and Red McCombs overrulled it because he was trying to sell off parts of the Spurs and didn't want someone as controversial as Chuck after the spitting incident and the plate glass window incident among others.

Something would need to be done to cull the backcourt if that trade happens. If Mills stays, you got Murray, Green, Walker, Parker, Hart, White, Mills, Forbes, and Manu playing the guard spots.
