Mac is clearly a liability as HC

Red was a better game manager and that's saying a lot.

Lol, WHUT

Prove me wrong then

Prove to me that Mac is a good coach and not a liability

Well his career coaching record says he's a good coach. Outside of speculation, no one outside of that locker room could tell you why he is or isn't a good coach.

Super Bowl is there for the taking this year, but it will probably depend on what our health looks like in the playoffs.

You dont just easily win every game in the regular season, the great teams avoid losing streaks.

Starting WR Cooper- Out
Starting LT Smith- Out
Starting DE Gregory- Out
Starting DE Lawrence- Out
Starting WR Lamb- Left game with concussion

Not to mention that all of these players are field leaders.

I don't like to make excuses either but that is alot to overcome when playing a good team in a tough road environment.

But yeah, it's McCarthy's fault!

Was at the game. Did anyone ask McCarthy why he didn't call a timeout before the half?

I haven't even read the last couple pages but I can imagine....

We lost a football game. So has everybody else if you haven't noticed. Doesn't change the fact that up to this point Dallas has a really good team. We need to get healthy.

Those are 5 of our 9 elite players (with Dak, Martin, Parsons, Diggs also on that list).

That's pretty much impossible for any team to overcome in a hostile environment. Dallas has won without quality starters all year... but to be without that many studs all at once is a bit much.

Gonna be a helluva fight on T-day if Lamb is still out.

Is it possible to "prove" anyone is a good coach outside of Bilichik?

Seriously, every team in the league has stinkers.

My main beef with the coaching staff has been how they've handled Zeke/ Pollard. Pollard needs to be in on most passing downs imo. Zeke just doesn't have the speed or elusiveness that Pollard has. Frustrating to watch him get taken down in the open field with 1 DB to beat. Felt like that happened a lot yesterday.

Yep...right now:

Pollard >>> Elliott.

Isn't zeke the better pass rush blocker? Pollard does seem to be the better back in space.

Yes, Zeke is better in protection while I think Pollard is better at almost everything else. What really bugged me yesterday was that even though the OL was getting its ass kicked, they kept sending Zeke out on useless checkdowns. If he was going to be out there, keep him in protection to provide help and chip guys. Otherwise, put Pollard in. It felt very Atlanta 2018-ish

This. Zeke is a better pass blocker, probably elite in that category but he didn't even block yesterday.

Yeah, you can get by with these types of things, esp at home, but not against a SB team on the road.

It's easy to overreact each week, but two losses are to the two SB teams on the road. Tyron and Cooper are so important to this offense. They should be good to go for this last stretch.

Every team has multiple players injured or out for the season. I can see now why the players didn't want to play 17 games. It would be interesting to see what percentage of starters remain league wide at the end of the season.

That being said, teams need to adapt and find players to fit in. We've already seen players stand out who weren't even two deep at the start.

So, Cooper elected not to get vaccinated. Of course it's his choice, but if a player is not vaccinated and contracts Covid, isn't that 10 days out at a minimum?

Second half of the season is gonna be wild and unpredictable. Some teams we thought were crappy are just starting to find their legs - Eagles, Colts, Vikings and 49ers.

Gonna be a fun ride. I hope we can make the adjustments.

From the McCarthy presser today:

Looks like Tyron is playing Thursday. That should be a big lift to the O. McGovern will stay at LG.

Tank may be activated off IR this week and realistically play Thursday.

Positive reports on Lamb from Steven. Not ruled out yet for Thursday.

Would really like to see how this line performs with a Smith, Collins, Biadasz, Martin, Steele line up but sounds like they're not even entertaining that.

Watched the game last night. Giants had most of their weapons back against a depleted defensive line/secondary against TB.

Giants didn't throw it 5 yards past the line. Jones always quit and dunked it to Barkley very quickly. Typical god awful play calling. Players were clearly pissed off and quit during the game. The looks Garrett got while being "coached" was priceless.

It's amazing to me someone out there hired Garrett to be a coach or run an offense.

He's simply not cut out for coaching imo. Maybe he's better in a front office or something.

Landry wasn't fired because he was a bad coach, he simply couldn't (or refused) to adapt as the game changed. I feel the same way about JG... the guy was still trying to get away with stuff that worked 10 years ago.

Give guys like Dan Quinn a ton of credit for adapting... would have been so easy for him to just sit back and keep the same thing that worked so well 7-8 years ago.

I could see him going the Saban coaching rehab route.

He does not deserve to be an OC or head coach again. The game has absolutely, completely passed him by

The NFL is not a league that rewards teams who play with no aggression, no innovation, and a "not to lose" mentality. All 3 of those things are what Jason Garrett is known for. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did with another nfl organization. It just shows you how stupid Jerry was to keep him as long as he did.

Garrett squandered Romo's career and is the largest reason he isn't a hall of famer. I hope to one day die on a hill defending this point

I would've canned his conservative ass after one season, but then again I never would have hired him in the first place.

Quote:

The real story is not that the Giants fired Garrett. The calamity that Mara needs to address is why Garrett was ever hired. Garrett spent nine years as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Their defining quality under him was less than the sum of their parts. His Cowboys offenses had an embarrassment of riches: the league's best offensive line, talented skill players, and a seamless quarterback transition from Tony Romo to Dak Prescott. These are the rosters most coaches dream of, yet Garrett's players complained for years that their offense was too predictable. The Cowboys' special teams play was awful for years, a sign of a lack of attention to detail. Garrett's clock management was awful, which is genuinely inexplicable for a coach who gave up play-calling after 2013. (If a coach isn't calling plays, why aren't they excellent at managing the clock?) In hiring Garrett, the Giants got the absolute worst of the Cowboys over the last decade: all the sloppiness and poor attention to detail without any of the talent.

Again, this was not hard to predict. Was there one - literally, one - Cowboys fan who was upset that the Giants hired Jason Garrett? (The vibe was more lol, good luck with that.) I am a Giants fan, and I can tell you that every Giants fan I know was distraught by Garrett's hire. It went exactly as anyone who watched Dallas in the 2010s predicted it would go when you hand Garrett the worst roster in the NFC East instead of the best one. The Giants are supposed to know their division rivals better than they know other teams. Did they not watch the last decade of Cowboys football? How could the Giants evaluate Dallas's coaching decisions over the last decade and decide that Garrett would improve their team, or that Garrett was a good mentor for Joe Judge or a good coordinator for Daniel Jones? Instead, the inane lack of attention to detail, clock management, and general unpreparednessthe sloppinessthat defined Dallas has plagued the Giants.

Wasted Romo and wasted Witten.

Ultimately I blame the Jones family though for keeping this schmuck around.

Right now looking like Lamb will play!

Also, you hear about Everson Griffin locked up in his house with a gun... crazy tweets about people trying to kill him... police are there and they apparently know he's alone but he won't come out. Kooky stuff!
