Yeah, brutal. The bats showed some life, but it was Denver, so let's not get too excited. Luke Jackson really shouldn't be on the roster. If you can't trust him to hold things down in a 6 run game, then he shouldn't be there. Yeah, Jimenez ultimately gave up the go ahead runs, but he had some bad BABIP luck and he came into a tough spot after Jackson had already given them new life.
Pretty nice bounce back in SF after the collapse in Denver. 2 extra inning wins, huge props to Raisel Iglesias, who I think is massively underappreciated.
But tonight's game was a lot of fun. Mike Harris hits a gs in his first at bat in 2 months and the offense erupts for 13 runs. And Grant Holmes is such a great story. He was on nobody's radar coming into the season, and he's turned into such an important piece to this staff. Great performance tonight.

Soem tough news though in that Minter is going to need surgery. Might have seen the last of him as a Brave.
Yeah, tough Minter news. It seemed like his stuff wasn't very sharp his last couple of outings, so I guess that explains it. I think he loves being a Brave, so hopefully he'll re-sign for a reasonable deal in the off-season. I do wonder if he has some desire to get back to Texas though, and might sign with the Astros or Rangers.

Austin Riley is out 6-8 weeks with a broken hand. So unless they go the NLCS, he's probably done. Just when the offense was starting to heat up. Not sure who steps in to play 3rd, unless they slide Merrifield over and call Nacho back up.

OK who had Ramon Laureano and Whit Merrifield not only starting but batting 2nd for the Braves is a key matchup in August on their 2024 Braves bingo card?
Braves swept the Twins after getting series wins vs Phils and Nats. Harris had a scare where he was hit by a pitch and missed a game but seems ok. Sale could be the Cy Young leader in the NL at this point.

I don't know when he quit posting, but they're playing really good baseball lately. 12-4 in their last 16 games. The bats are still inconsistent, but the pitching is so good. Sale is Cy Young for sure. All you have to do is get in the tournament and anything can happen...

Braves have won the first two vs the Rockies but need to keep winning as the Mets are only half a game back. Merrifield got hit in the head the other day and hasn't been in the lineup since. Lopez goes tonight.
