would you or would you happen to know anyone with connections for 4 tickets to a Braves game? We will be flying in on July 4 and that looks like the only night we can attend a game.

I'm on our season ticket app - Ballpark - and for July 4th to buy additional tix, it sends me to ticketmaster. The prices going to Ticketmaster from the Ballpark app are actually higher than if you just go to ticketmaster.com. WTF?

I've never bought tix additional to the ones I got through season tix, so I don't know if there is a way for me to get a discount. I'll ask the guy heading up our season tix account.

I think I went last year for July 4th. Great fireworks show.

My wife loves Cuban sandwiches - El Super Pan at the Battery is very quick and has good food. We always go there because they have the operation down pat - always fast.

Rocky Patel's Burn is a great place for an Old Fashioned and a cigar. That's our go-to for after the game if we don't take off immediately.

Braves are finally starting to look more like they did at the beginning of the season…although these one-run games are a bit nerve racking, but I'll take the W any way we can get them!

AJ Minter was traded to the Twins today…sure wish Atlanta would have landed him, but happy to not have to root against him with the Mets anymore.

Braves trade for Lane Thomas and Bailey Falter. Gave up Braun and Holton. Not bad. It will be interesting what other roster moves happen in the coming days with Kim and Murphy about to be activated. I wonder if they can trade Bart somewhere. Thomas seems like a replacement for Eli White. I would think Jarvis goes down for Kim since he has options and his defense has been shaky lately.

Dodgers get Skubal for 3 prospects. I don't understand why River Ryan is considered a 55FV prospect. He is about to turn 28 and had barely pitched the last three years.

Julio Franco still hitting at the age of 67. He hit 8 HR's during an alumni weekend event though it looks like the set up was a bit inside of 2nd base so not full length home runs. Still impressive.

My wife and I were there too. Felt good to get the division for the first time in 3 years and see it in person with Braves Country! We went Friday also, great weekend of games overall for the Braves.

On a side note - seeing AJ Smith Shawver come out of the bullpen throwing 100 mph gas was a sight to see. Hope to see more of that in the playoffs!

Stole game 2 with another bullpen game. Kerr did his thing again and Fuentes was excellent. Also encouraging to see Suarez throw a 123 inning. Back to Atlanta with a fully rested Sale and Mahle ready to go. It won't be easy beating Yamamoto and Glasnow, but the game 1 and 2 strategy worked out as well as you could have hoped for.

Frustrating. Sale was a little off from the beginning.

I'm getting really sick of Acuna though. He's been terrible at the plate all post season. Then they have to shuffle the lineup at the last minute because his leg hurts and he can't play outfield. Then the ultimate selfish act when he gets his feelings hurt after a called strike 3 in the first inning on a not so borderline pitch, so he wastes a challenge. They had to be careful with the second challenge from that point on, and it kept Baldwin from challenging a couple of close calls, and it kept Olson from challenging an obvious miss high on a strike 3 call. His act is growing old.

Always disappointing to lose a game when Sale is pitching, but not totally surprising, especially with the way Yamamoto was pitching.

Defense let Sale down early in the game…felt like it snowballed into a high pitch count that was completely unsustainable.

Looks like whichever team hits the most home runs each game is going to win. Let's hope Mahle can keep the Dodgers in ballpark this evening…and the defense makes plays!

Its not rent free space. Its akin to the late 90s early 2000s Yankees. They try to outspend everyone to get a ring. Unfortunately not all teams can keep up. Bragging about this is like some billionaire laughing at a teacher not being able to financially keep up. Its not wrong to have a lot of money and spend it. Or like a 6A team beating up on 4A/3A teams. Its just kind of sad for baseball really due to the lack of parity.

Dodgers have a near 400 million payroll. Hard for other teams to compete when they continue to sign future hall of famers.

Braves fan here and I was surprised to see their payroll is 12th and just above half of the Dodgers payroll.

If the Braves had the money to spend like the Dodgers I wouldn't be upset with a 400 million dollar payroll either. But as a fan of team that cant compete financially it seems to me that any championship won with that type of payroll wouldn't be special (although im certain if im on the other side it would be).

Again, it's like a 6A team competing with a 3A team. The Dodgers should win everything with the talent they have amassed. Anything short of that is laughable.
