He has been fun to watch this year and you can see that he has continued to grow and improve.

Braves finally get to Alcantara with not one, not two, but three two run jacks!

And two of them came from our rookies, Harris and Grissom.

6-1 Braves against a pitcher that has dominated us the first two times we faced him.

Jansen. What the hell?

1-0 game and he gives up a bloop, a single, then a walk to load the bases with no outs in the 9th.

Now a tie game on a sac line out. The walks are just killer and he rarely gets through an inning without one.

Weird and long 9th inning that saw it all. Walks, bloops, both teams loading the bases, and ump changes.

Ends with a walk off walk.

Braves win 2-1. Gain a game on the Mets.

Oh you're right. I honestly didn't realize that Matzek finished the ninth.

I guess you could get the W without even throwing a pitch. Say you came in in that situation and picked a guy off. I wonder if that's ever happened.

Matzek did get the W last night, although, the single pitch win was not as rare as I initially thought.

So, after a rain delay ruined a potential no hit bid for Max Fried, the Braves are now 3 outs away from cutting the division lead to a single game. Currently 4-1 Braves in the bottom frame of the 8th.

If the back end can get it done, which it has for the most part, this is going to be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.

Hoping Jansen gets it right because he has been a weak spot. I truly think Iglesias is the better option, but I understand why Snit is sticking with Jansen in the closer role.

Aside from the pitching, the line up is just deep. Realize, we are in a five game win streak where our clean up hitter had an 0-23 stretch during those games. Crazy.

Opportunity to tie the Mets tonight, who have been outscored 22-4 in their last 3 games against the Nats and Pirates.

Braves strike early getting 3 in the first, but do give one back in the bottom half.

Odorizzi having another less than stellar performance. Does not even make it through 4 today.

He has only been good with us after a rain delay.

Have our work cut out for us now down 4-1 headed into the 5th. But still plenty of time to get something going.

ETA: Started the inning off with a double, but can't advance to runner at all.

Yay…we score 5 in the 9th to take the lead!

Noo…Jansen gives up two homers in the 9th for another blown save and the loss. That dude is almost single handily going to cost us the division.

Man…Kyle Wright has been off the last couple of games.

Fortunate to get out of the second without giving up a run. After getting two quick outs, he went walk, single, walk, and then went down 3-0 with the bases loaded. Got out of it, but not good see bullpen action in the second inning.

Have to take advantage. Mets lost with DeGrom pitching.

And Dansby comes through with a 2-run jack!

Looks like Kyle really settled down after that tough inning. He picks up win #18 and the Braves move back to within a 1/2 game of the Mets.

Will be happy when these west coast games are done.

So glad to have Ozzie back on this final stretch. Hoping that he provides a spark to take this team to another level, catch the Mets, and head into the postseason playing their best baseball.
