Great start from Allard today since you knew he was likely limited in the number of pitches.

Allard did great today and really out performed the expectation. Braves strike out 14 in the shut out today.

Pitching only gives up (3) runs in (3) games to get the sweep.

Here is to hoping the BoSox walk it off both times in the 13th inning in the next two games against the fish, just before our series this weekend.

Rabbit holed into the prospect list this morning. Former Aggie player Braden Shewmake is doing well. He is projected to make his MLB appearance in 2023. But, he is SS and I am not seeing him replacing Arcia. Maybe he gets brought up for depth at 2nd/SS later in the season to get some experience prior to playoffs. Or we may trade him for a needed player.

He appeared earlier this year when Adrianza was out. Hit for the cycle last night but overall needs to produce better at AAA.

What do we really need right now? I think the biggest need is another lefty arm in the bull pen. Right now we just have AJ.

Could also use another starter, depending on when Max and Kyle get back into the rotation.

Lee returning would give you another LHP but I don't think he is that close.

Schuster just got sent down. Some are specilating that Soroka will come back up soon. Sounds like Fried is closer to returning that Wright is. Allard was great yesterday, but his track record doesn't suggest you can count on him to be a key cog in your rotation.

So projecting to playoff time, we're looking at Strider, Elder (who has been fantastic, but could be a candidate for second half regression), Morton, maybe Fried and/or Soroka, and possibly Allard, Schuster or AJSS. Lots of options, but not enough sure things to feel really good about October. I wouldn't be surprised if Anthopolous goes after a front line starter at the deadline.

Beyond that, yeah, the bullpen is always something that can be bolstered. I'd like one more high leverage guy. And possibly a right handed LF to platoon with Rosario (although Pillar is a decent option there). The lineup is just about perfect as is, honestly, and you don't need to worry about stocking up on pinch hitters anymore with the DH in place.

Murphy and Arcia are also all star starters.

Soroka with two good innings so far and Braves put up a 5 spot in the bottom of the first.

This team is ruthless in the early innings.

Not a good third inning for Soroka. Too many poorly located sliders. Now 5-3 Braves. Hope they can get a couple of those back.

Riley gets one back right away! 6-3 Braves.

Olson follows with a triple! Just missed another homer, but he is now halfway to a cycle in the 3rd inning. Murphy gets him home on a sac fly.

7-3 Braves.

Much better 4th inning for Soroka. Gave up a hit but got a K and then a grounder for a DP.

Olson gets another home run in the 5th. It is now 10-3 Braves, with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no one out. able to push one more across, making it 11-3 going to the 6th.

Soroka gets through 6 strong innings, bouncing back from that shaky 3rd inning, by giving up only a couple of hits, no walks, and no runs. Has to feel good for him and hope it leads to more from him!

This offense is ridiculous. Murphy just annihilated a baseball.

Riley is a triple away from the cycle.

Olson is a double away from the cycle, and is currently 4-4.

Murphy just launched a 459 bomb to make it 14-3.

The Marlins, on the season, were even in run differential but were -32 against the Braves (per the radio crew). That number is about to get worse.

It has been so much fun to watch.

Acuna with a 2 run shot in the 7th.

That makes six HRs on the night for the Braves.

Riley and Olson will get a chance in the 8th to go for the cycle.

16-4 Braves going into the 8th.

OK put Culberson in now. They owe him one from Father's day.

Already 6-0 in the first inning. The Marlins starter only gets one out in the first before being pulled.

What else can you say about this team right now? They are just unreal and are a blast to watch. And they have absolutely dominated the Marlins this season. Would love to get the sweep tomorrow.

Sweep complete, a three day fish fry as the broadcast crew said.

Strider looked great, had a little trouble in the second but limited the damage. Arcia got the Braves going with a solo shot to make it 2-1. In little league fashion, Harris singled, then stole second and advanced to third on a bad throw. He then scored on a pass ball to tie the game. Alcantara would then walk Acuna and Albies took him deep to give the Braves a 4-2 lead.

Strider almost got through 7 complete, if not for an Albies error that lead to another run scoring to make it 4-3.

In the 8th, Olson just missed going yard and had to settle for a double. TdA left no doubt though, putting one in the Chop House to make it 6-3.

Iglesias was perfect in the 9th for the save.

Braves are now on their 3rd win streak of 8 this year. They have won 16 out of 17. They now have a commanding 9 game lead in the East and frankly, put the second place team in their place this weekend.

Back in the win column, taking the rubber match 8-1.

10 straight series wins, first time since 2003.

Snitker gets win #600.

Great game against the Rays. Braves take the game, 2-1. Both teams hit a home run, but the Braves had a runner on when Murphy went yard. That makes 24 consecutive games the Braves have hit a homer.

Pitching was great on both sides. Murphy also caught two runners stealing.

Murphy gets another homerun, making it 25 straight games for the Braves with a long ball. Strider was dominant, getting 11Ks and touching 100 mph on his fastball.

Rays got on the board in the 8th to make it 4-1, but the Braves tack on 2 more in the top of the 9th. Non save situation, Snitker goes with McHugh in the 9th, who had a 3 up 3 down outing to secure the win.

It is the 11th straight series win. 60th win of the season.

Rough day for Elder on the mound. After holding the Rays to just two runs over the first two games, they get four in the first inning. Braves cut it to two, but the Rays immediately responded with three to make it 7-2. Never really got close after that inning.

Can't win them all. 60 wins before the ASB and an 8.5 game lead in the East leaves very little to complain about.

In other news, Fried has started his rehab stint.
