Arcia to be opening day SS. Shewmake and Grisham sent down to minors
If you can't handle the stress, log off until August. If you can handle the stress, be supportive and donate to United. No more buildings and concrete. Gotta channel funds to the collective for now.

excited to follow the braves this season for the first time this year. After watching most of the spring they should be pretty damn salty.

I'm surprised they didnt make room for Nick Anderson in the bullpen and start Jiminez out on the IL. Joe has looked pretty bad thus far this spring.

This boggles my mind of how Grissom was optioned. I can understand Shewmake but Grissom was lights out.

Great way to start the season!

Looks like TdA had a great day at the plate.

Hoping that it was nothing serious with Fried.

Scored 7 runs the first game with no homers.

Scored 7 runs in the second game with four homers, including starting the game with a leadoff back to back. Acuna looks like he might be on his way to returning to full form. Olson goes deep twice and Ozuna launched one.

Strider looked great. Had some walks, but only 3 hits, no runs, and 9 Ks through 6 innings. Bullpen was stingy as well and they are deep.

Phillies getting trashed in Texas...love it.

Braves got a solid first start from Dodd and have taken the first two in STL.

Played excellent defense last night, up to the very last out.

Rosario also looked good at the plate, picking up a couple of hits after coming in the 6th inning to replace Pillar. TdA continues to light it up. Fun team to watch right niw!

I know the WS isn't won in April, but this team sure looks pretty awesome so far. Olsen is having a monster game today, and Bryce Elder is having a nice start. Vaughn Grissom has gotten off to a really strong start at AAA too, so that's something to keep an eye on.

Swept the Cardinals. Now back home.

Not only did they swept the Cards, they dominated the Cards.

Braves led after 26 of 27 innings, and the only inning they were not leading was a tie. Cards never had a lead through three games.

Olson had a nice follow up after getting a golden sombrero last night. This line up is legit.

I agree you can't win the WS in April and there is still a ton of baseball to play. But it sure is nice to get off to a good start and it would be even better if we don't spot a 10 game lead to the Mets this year. They look like they are motivated to get it done this year. Really helps having Acuna back at 100%.

Also, cannot be understated, this team is playing phenomenal defense at the moment.

Exhibit number one:

Harris Robs Goldschmidt

Exhibit number two:

Olson Double Play

Exhibit number three, where we play great defense even when we play bad defense:

Making chicken salad out of chicken something else...

Exhibit number four:

Acuna throws out O'Neill, who gets benched the next game for not scoring on this play

Exhibit number five:

Austin Riley doesn't just hit home runs...

Braves win on a walkoff single by Arcia.

Harris left with tightness in his back. Hope he is OK.

Dansby who?

How about the job Arcia has done, not only this game, but the season so far at short?

Tonight...he has a HR, starts a two-out rally in the 8th with a double and scores a run, then walks off the game in the 9th with a two out base knock.

After falling behind 6-4 in the top of the 8th, the Braves put together back-to-back two out rallies in the 8th to tie it and in the 9th to win it.

Left the bases loaded a handful of times last night and ended up losing by one.

Could never get anything going tonight and played less than stellar defense. Ozuna has been about worthless at the plate with like a 0.080 average and a complete no show in big at bats. Had an opportunity at the end but struck out three straight times with the tying run at the plate.

Have to go get one tomorrow to salvage a split.

As someone with no rooting interest in this series I wouldn't mind seeing these teams matching up in October

Just an awful showing tonight. Nothing at all going right.

Yeah, the Padres looked really good and the Braves didn't play particularly well this weekend. Also, doesn't help that the injuries have piled up all of a sudden.

Again had the bases loaded and couldn't make anything out of it to really blow the game open.

Now Minter has given up three straight hits to blow the save and the game is tied with no outs in the 9th.

After the blown save, we failed to score in the 9th and then gave up the lead in 10th.

But, it only took one pitch in the bottom of the 10th to end it. Sean Murphy caps off a stellar night with his first home run as a Brave in walk off fashion!

going into the season the bullpen was supposed to be the strong suit, but they have struggled early. With Iglesias on the IL, and the starting pitchers not going very deep into the games the last few weeks it's made it pretty tough.

Good thing is many of the guys are pitching about as bad as they have in a long time. It will get better I am sure.

Kyle Wright is scheduled to start tonight and hopefully Fried will be back soon. Getting those two back will make a big difference, as we had to start (2) rookies twice each in the first (10) games.

Encouraging things are happening with Soroka in AAA, so hopefully he can find his way back into the mix.

I think the bullpen will be fine, assuming everyone stays healthy. We currently are without Iggy and McHugh, so getting them back in the mix will be big. I am not sold on Yates yet as he has not impressed. Minter has been ok, but just did not have it last night. I also do not think he is a true closer.

Wright imploding in the 3rd.

Walks a guy to load the bases then plunks the next batter to put the Reds on the board. Gives up a weak infield single that scores two runs after striking out two in a row, but then walks two more in a row to give the Reds a 4-1 lead.

Lots of work to do with the bats and plenty of time, but we are likely gonna be in our bullpen early.

After we get one in the bottom frame of the 3rd, Ozzie ties the ball game at 4 with a 2 run dinger in the 4th, the 100th of his career.

And after an Ozuna single, Hilliard gets his second double in as many innings to give the Braves the lead!

How about the job Tonkin did last night in relief for Wright? 3 innings, 10 batters, giving up just one hit. He kept us in the game and allowed the offense to get going.

Back and forth game, but Braves take a 5-4 lead into the 9th after Eddie goes deep in the 8th!

Minter with a clean 9th and the Braves sweep the Reds!

Arcia took a 98 mph heater off his wrist early in the game and had to come out. Hope he is OK.

Eddie is swinging the bat well. Hoping he can keep it up. Murphy had a big hit tonight, again. Ozuna has just been terrible at the plate. He has been a rally killer. Just not giving the line up anything batting a whooping .08ish. Maybe once TdA comes back, we can less Ozuna and more hits.
yawny06

Just cannot escape the injury bug this season. After taking a 98 mph fastball off his wrist, Arcia has a micro-fracture and has to go on the IL. It is unfortunate because he had been playing well, both in the field and at the plate. That means that three of our opening day starters (TdA, Harris, ans Arcia) are now on the IL, to go along with Fried.

Guess we are going to get to see how Grissom can handle the day to day at SS.
