Yea, not sure on the thought process there. Have to figure he is not gonna be available now for the next two nights. Getting this first game though was huge.
Hopefully Fried channels his inner Maddux and goes CG on 95 pitches tomorrow night. Or tonight? I hate west coast games…

Mostly hurts Strider in the Cy Young race. Glad Acuna got a hit at the end to break his hitless streak.
The Cards have had plenty of offense this season, BTW. The front office failed miserably in the offseason to address the team's pitching needs, and the pitching has been brutal.

Enjoying the broadcast, but it's kind of bizarre hearing color from a guy who sounds Australian to me. His first name is Peter I believe.

Chip comes across as completely artificial. He's certainly not a bad play-by-play man, but he comes across (to me, at least) as the opposite of real.
Brad Thompson is doing color for this series, and he's a lightweight. Cardinals broadcasts are much better during the series that Jim Edmonds does color. Been in Missouri for ten years, and it's still weird to me that they Cards broadcasts aren't better than they are.

Listening to Chip now is weird and artificial to me, because I only know him as a Braves homer, so understand how you feel.
