Arcia a triple away from the cycle.

Elder gets through 6 innings giving up just the one run on 4 hits.

10-1 Braves headed to the bottom of the 6th.

These types games are fun…

Man, we really lucked out on picking this weekend to watch the Braves. 7 home runs in 2 games and a combined 18-3 advantage. Ironically, we didn't get to see an Acuna hit until Colorado put in an outfielder to pitch. I was worried we wouldn't get to see any of the best relievers pitch since the games were such blowouts, but he decided to give Minter a little work, so I was really happy about that.

My only complaint about Truist Park is the line to get into the Clubhouse Shop. We entered the stadium about an hour and 45 minutes before first pitch, and the line was always super long. We waited until after the game to finally get in that line, and it was still about 30 minutes. But otherwise, everything is just amazing. The Battery is a great setup that really enhances the atmosphere surrounding the game. Really impressed with the fans too...enthusiastic, knowledgeable, well behaved. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's such a good team.

Nice seats!

We are headed there in July for the D-backs series. Can't wait to get back and really hoping we are half as fortunate as you were to see that offensive onslaught!

Man…this team is relentless. Down 5-0 after inning and a half, they storm back with 7 unanswered runs to take the lead in the 4th.

After a 3 run HR from Money Mike and 2 run HR from Eddie (his second HR of the day giving him 6 RBIs) the Braves now command a 12-5 lead…

Pretty impressive stuff from today's TomaBlog!

"The Braves have won 6 in a row and 14 of their last 17. They're now 20 games over .500.

The Braves have raised their run differential from +69 to +100.

Michael Harris has raised his average from .190 to .249.

Ozzie Albies has hit 6 HRs and 16 RBIs in the last two weeks.

Eddie Rosario has hit 6 HRs and 17 RBIs in the last two weeks.

AJ Minter has lowered his ERA over 2 full runs.

Orlando Arcia is now hitting .339 on the year.

The Braves now lead the league in HRs with 122.

Since losing 2 out of 3 in Oakland the Braves have been playing near unbeatable baseball!"

What's frustrating is we haven't seemed to gain any games over our NL East opponents. They are hot too.

Well, our NL East opponents have to be feeling the same way, since we are in the lead and they have to gain ground on us and have not been able to do so…

Glad to be frustrated and be 5 games up instead of 5 games back.

Truth

I don't get to watch many games. Our boys are still playing baseball and we are gassed by the time we get home. But, I love watching the highlights as there seems to be an endless supply of them right now!

Braves playing on TBS right now!

Strider has 4 Ks through 2 innings.

Big win! A little more stressful than what you'd like in the 9th, but a W is a W.

Hard to believe the Marlins are sitting with the 3rd best record in the NL with a -15 run differential.

Apparently, we scored 5 runs in the 10th to ruin Philly's day.

A win in the 10th to stretch our lead over the 3rd place Phillies to 10 games.

Braves jump out to a 5-0 lead in the first and after one inning, the wheels fall off the pitching. It is now a 11-7 deficit and not looking good to extend the win streak.

Braves get solo shots from Acuna, Riley, and Olson in the 8th to make it a one run game…

Gonna be interesting…

Braves return the favor and end the Reds win streak by taking the game, 7-6 today.

That ballpark is crazy. 8 home runs between the two teams in today's ball game. Think there was just as many if not more last night.

Braves get the series win and the 50th win of the season.

That Reds team is good. They just wouldn't go away. Six games with them this year, all decided by a single run.

AJSS sent down and Rodriguez called up. This seems to mean that Soroka will start Wednesday.

Murphy is healthy now so I would think sending Tromp down and calling up a INF would be next.

For those that aren't aware, Dereck Rodriguez is the son of Pudge.

Love the series wins in Philly and Cincy. It seemed like they were building up the record by beating up on bad teams. But these were big time series wins. Nothing cheap at all about them.

I'd like to see the starters go a little deeper. They really stretched the bullpen against the Reds, which is why they brought up Rodriguez. Hopefully Fried gets healthy after the break and can be the true 1 we need him to be. Then I'd like to see AJSS shift to the pen for the remainder of the year. Still see him as a starter long term, of course, but I think he'll best help this team in the post season from the pen.

Walks (6) and hit batsman (3) cost us that first game in Cincy. We out hit them 16 to 9, but those free bases really, really hurt. You have to get give the Reds credit because they fought back every game, but the Braves were the ones controlling the game from the early innings on by getting out to early leads and forcing the Reds to play catch up.

Got 7 innings from Strider tonight which helps.

Yates get his first save since August 2020.

Strider had 7 dominant innings. He looked great. Only three hits, two of which were just little soft contact flares. Gallo got into one for a homer, but that was it.

Marcell and Acuna went deep in the 7th to break the tie and give Spencer the runs he needed to get the W.

I knew the Mets were a ways back, but didn't realize they are 16 games out of first. They were just 6.5 games back at the start of our series with them on June 6th. That is insane with that payroll.

Braves heavily represented in All Star voting. Could end up with quite a few starters.

Three Hr's and a triple in the first is a good start. Defense with three errors already is not good.

Just hit the 5th homer of the game...still only 1 out in the 2nd

Acuna with 2 already

Who needs defense when we hit the long ball better than any team in history?

While they have those errors (now four total), the infield has come through with a couple of nice double play turns and the rare 4-6-3 single play (seriously, check out what Ozzie did) to squash a couple of potential rallies.

And Riley just made a fantastic play at 3rd to rob Buxton of extra bases and throw him out at first in the process.

The Mets payroll is close to what the payroll of three division leading teams(at start of this week) are combined. Braves, TB, Reds. If you sub the Twins for the Braves then you have three well under the Mets payroll. Though counting more than one central division leader seems like cheating.
