Well Opening day is upon us and its time for the new year. Basically its a almost completely new roster. We did restock the farm system with all of these moves so watching the minors might be more exciting this year.

Up 1-0 on Marlins in opener, going to bottom of 2nd.

I really don't understand the off-season fire sale. I'm a casual fan and I won't pretend to know the inner workings of the Braves. But, it seems like we were about 3 pieces from a REALLY good team. We needed a consistent catcher and center fielder. And one really good starting pitcher.

The pitching has been (and always was going to be) fantastic. The question going into the season was if we would score or lose 3-1 every game. If the bats surprise, we could still have a good year, but I'm not expecting us to sustain a good offense.

Can't argue with a 3-0 start and a sweep of the Fish. Was very impressed with our bullpen in this series and the offense was great in the game on Tuesday. I just bought tickets to see the Braves play in D.C. next month when I'm going to be up there visiting a friend. Have any of you been to that ballpark before, and if so, what did you think?

The Braves sure are winning the Heyward trade so far. Miller looks like he could be the #1 starter for a long time. Hopefully this ends up being the Wainright/Drew trade in reverse.

Here's a good article about where things stand with all the off season deals so far. The future looks bright...
