GoCo will have a soft opening on Monday, Sept.3. They open at 10:00 AM for regular business on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Tekno is all a-twitter.

Nice to see the former Gander Mountain being converted to an At Home! Saw that when i drove in for the game yesterday. Don't remember seeing it mentioned on this thread.

Thoughts on the likes of a Burlington, Dick's Sporting Goods or Belk Department store taking over the closing Sears location in the mall. Any other suggestions on what could be a fit and help bring more traffic back to the mall?

On the "Is that a thing?" Podcast they said the Gringos is still happening despite rumors otherwise. Also, they said that Chimney Hill area may be getting a new hotel and a national restaurant in addition to the previously discussed Starbucks.

Also talked a lot about unspecified entertainment places having lots of intrerest in College Station. Examples included bowling and rock climbing. Big Shots zoning variance request will be voted on by city council next week.

They are talking about Main Event.

At Home is set to open in October.

I'd expect the old Academy to be more attractive for those businesses you listed vs. the old Sears or Toys R Us locations.

Tried Mr Hamburger today and definitely will not be going back. The way the staff was treateing each other was upsetting to both the wife and I. The food came out completely wrong (was expected) but the look of the patty was not something I would put in my body. $20 for two burger meals will definitely send me down the road to one of the other thousand burger joints we have. Very disappointed with this one. I am a firm believer in giving restaurants time to get right, but not this one.

Unfortunate to hear.

I can't help but point out that $20 for two burger combos is the same as Whataburger however.

Finally got to Stellas.

Quality of food was good. Grits were on point. Biscuit was genuine. Gravy too gummy really but everything else was from fine to pretty good.

Probably won't go back, at least not often, because i dont like standing in line to order and then asked by the cashier if i have a "tip"

Also, typically don't frequent restaurants at that price level that don't even have padded seats.

That's JMO

Denny's has padded seats for your delicate tushie. Try there next time.

But $20 at whataburger gets a better meal.

Felt the same way. GF and I went around noon and it was a long line with only one cashier. Didn't mind the wait, but I guess the cashier didn't really know the routine or something because it took everyone at least five min to order once they got to the register. The food was so-so. Not a place I would go out of my way to try again.

When I went the line was short. Took me about 12 minutes to get my food. I thought the burger and fries were good, though I can see those used to Koppe complaining about the portion sizes. Looking forward to trying their breakfast menu. As long as Greg D doesn't review them on Yelp, I'm sure they'll do fine.

Hyatt House next to Cracker Barrel feels like it has been under construction forever - the new ER next to it broke ground much later has been open for weeks.

The website is up & fully functional, but any dates I try to reserve show up as "hotel unavailable".

Anyway, told my wife I'd ask the usually knowledgeable folks of TexAgs. TIA!

Yes I don't doubt that one bit. I just felt the way I read the post that there was an implication that $20 for two Burger meals is expensive, when it's actually quite common.

Actually, $10/person for most food these days is on the cheap side.

Terrible plan to stop at 40. By the time that's done (After 2024), they'll need 3 lanes all the way down to Navasota

That would be nice. Maybe by then the Aggie Expressway will be done.

We went to Mr. Hamburger yesterday as well. They were clearly overwhelmed. Our food was ok but not as good as I remember the spot in Huntsville.

It is fairly common for opening week of a restaurant to be shaky. We will try them again in a few weeks.

Dat Dog is just as good as the one in NOLA. It's a little pricey but unique and really tasty.

Looking forward to trying Dat Dog. Building looks cool, menu looks interesting, and glad they at least try to offer some healthy options.

Picked up a to go order for dat dog yesterday. Took awhile for 4 dogs and 2 orders of fries. Got back to home base, one of the dogs was wrong, so I walked back over and they fixed it very quickly. The food was alright, but not exactly what I would expect for about 8 bucks a dog. I'll try it again, but maybe after they get the kinks worked out.

Most of the menu items at Dat Dog are actually sausages which explains the prices.
