Hooters legitimately has better wings than everyone in town... aside from the Angry Elephant.
I would like more information on the Angry Elephant wings! Are they breaded or nude? Are they decent size?

I agree that the overall wing quality in town is not fantastic.

WingStop cajun or atomic (get them extra well done) are currently the best wings in town.

Carter Creek Condos being built behind the Cinemark, Sam's Club and RV storage. Doesn't it flood back there?
It is a flood way. That property has always had a little bit of non-flood or flood way area. They are either building something on that little piece of a large property or they have come up with some massively expensive way to get above the flood plain. I wouldn't just be worried about my condo flooding, but access to property has been impossible at least twice in the last two years.
It is - or was in the flood plain. However fill dirt brought in past took it out. I wouldn't build or buy one there. The flooding will increase over the years as development happens upstream on Carter Creek watershed. Detention ponds dont handle all the issues with concrete covering dirt.

Agreed. Wings N More has the best tenders, and BDubs has the best boneless wings, but I think Hooters has the best Bone-In Wings. I'm bias because I like breaded wings and have yet to find another place that does breaded wings like Hooters.

Naked and the largest in town. Also, haven't had a bad flavor.

Has the area between Ashley's and Ninfa's been mentioned? Land is being cleared and dirt work started. I doubt it is more parking for either place but I could be wrong.

I also saw a soil coring rig on the lot on the N bound feeder just N of Raintree, before Academy. I don't know if something is in the works there but soil coring tests usually mean someone is engineering for a future building.

I believe AtHome is adding approx 9,000 sqft to Gander building.

This is the lot, as mentioned, just N of Raintree, between Raintree and Academy, not the gander location.

5 Knocks Speakeasy is located at....a great place.

Happy to see more of the "big city" companies coming into our corner of the world. Now if we could just get Pappadeaux to get a move on.

Sorry guys. Wasn't thinking that far ahead. Was trying to help make sure a new concept was helped along and help it be successful. Didn't read into the "wink wink nudge nudge" context. Some places can cave without proper advertisement , but I get your point.

Everyone can calm down now.

This will be our third LaQuinta location. Are there plans to do anything with the Texas and University location, like...I dunno...give it a good coat of fire?

Anyone try out Rocky's yet? It is in the old Prospector's building in the same shopping center with the new Ace.

I went to Ace to get some wood chips for rib smoking and they have a really nice selection of Big Green Egg stuff, the best in town by a very large margin.

I seem to recall a CoB plan fot that atea to be apartments. Conceived when Blinn was going in across the highway, but maybe still viable due to proximity to main campus and RELLIS?

There are lots of restaurants that close from time to time in the summer in this time. Let's wait for a out of business sign or something before we jump that gun....

The vast majority of Mexican restaurants in town close around 2pm (4pm in Ninfa's case) on Sundays

Speaking of Mexican food restaurants...

Quote:

Fajita Pete's is a Houston-based Mexican restaurant with fajitas and margaritas with a twist: they'll deliver.

Founder Pete Mora opened his first restaurant in 2002 as a traditional eatery, but was deluged by catering requests. Seeing an opportunity, he downsized the restaurant side and focused on catering and delivery.

The chain has 10 locations in total, with the majority spread around Houston, and two more opening soon, in Midtown Houston and College Station.

Any speculation on where this is going?

I went to the one on 249 just south of Tomball. Beef fajitas for 2 was $36.

That's a little pricey for this town.

Pricey for this town? Sounds about the same as Lupe Tortilla which is doing just fine despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth that accompanied their fajita prices when they first came to town.

Any place that delivers margaritas will likely do just fine here.
