Anyone know when MESS Waffles will open? Nothing has been updated on their FB. I've seen people working in it this past week.
Anybody eaten at Mo's Irish Pub since it opened? Is it good? I love a good fish n chip place. Been wanting to check it out. What else on the menu is good?
I had a big ole burger and some friends had chicken strips a few weeks after they opened. All excellent and the serving sizes were way large everyone took home left-overs.eloc62 said:

I need to try the fish & chips soon thanks for the reminder. It is pretty typical upscale bar food like BJ's and WOB in my opinion.

I would also mention they have a pretty good beer menu.

Have been once and had the Reuben Boxty (a reuben wrapped in a potato pancake). It was very good.
I received a warning last time. Haven't been back.

Ten days after I move.
We've enjoyed everything we've tried thus far. Some of the faves have been the fried cheese curds, the appetizer wings, the boxty that Giveemhellbill mentioned and my youngest likes the burgers.
One interesting note.
Some new restaurants have a Facebook page, but focus 100% on the build out. Sheetrock, electrical , etc. No information on the food or the opening.
Future customers want to see recipes, ingredients, pictures, etc.. Take advantage of the down time making folks want to visit versus how a wall will look.

Sometimes, that tells you all you need to know about the food they're going to be serving (as in overpriced and not all that good) but I get your point and don't disagree. For some places that I've visited, enjoy that shiny new interior because that's the last time it will probably be clean. There are places in town where we won't return because there is nothing like having the fixtures that hang over the table look like they haven't been cleaned/dusted since the install.
We went once - before you had to pay to park. I got Fish n Chips. It was Excellent!

I wasn't a fan of the queso and sauerkraut mixed together in the boxty. Next time I'd get it either without the queso or without the sauerkraut.
The cheeseburger egg roll things are really good. Not sure what they're actually called though.

Thanks for the comments on Mo's. After we ship our youngest son off to Sam Houston State University next week for his freshman year, me and the wife are going there. No doubt I am going for the fish and chips the first time, but i love a good meat loaf, and my wife likes shepherds pie. Love cheese curds.
Fish and chips are legit. Gotta ask for the Malt Vinegar to go with it though.

Mr. Hamburger's sign has been updated to indicate they are opening August 31st.
The Coreena's Bridal sign went up yesterday over in the Cap Rock Crossing area.
The owner of Shipwreck Grill announced that they are opening 3rd on Main in downtown Bryan. Should open in October.

Yeah those Margaritas are pretty legit.

I was expecting more to be announced regarding Jones Crossing by this date, especially with the HEB opening soon. Do you suppose they are waiting so that the vehicle traffic will be there? Having trouble lining up tenants?
Also, is Southern Pointe (I think that's what it was called?) out at the speedway a nonstarter now? I thought they had submitted a site plan, but then the Harvey auto storage thing happened and I haven't heard anything more.

Also, the frame of the development at Holleman and 2818 looks like a Walgreen's, CVS or Aldi. I beat its an Aldi, but wouldn't we have heard about that? I remember awhile back talk of a small grocery store there and that seems to be what it is.

The Village, Casa Rods, Harvest Coffee, Kolache place...I think there are a few more breakfast places in DTB. So yup, definitely lacking breakfast.
