Mary lost first set 3-6. Not playing very well. A lot of unforced errors. Pushing everything. Had her serve broken 3 times
Down 21 in second, all breaks of serve so far
First hold of the set, just not in Mary's favor. Down 2-4 second set
Mary loses, didn't play well in the big points. Crowley had a better day. Hopefully Mary learns from this especially with a good chance we could face them in the NCAA finals! (I'm hopeful)
Fiona Crowley wins another tourney! Lost in the doubles finals. Her being from San Antonio wish she was an Ag!

Oddly enough, the coaches are not allowed to watch these matches in person, and are not even allowed at the facility during the tournament. They are all watching on youtube like the rest of us!

This may be a dumb question, but is Ellie kin to Jeanette?
After looking into it yesterday about similar training, same hometown of Houston, reading's Jeanette's AD website bio, and a video of an interview Elena gave at the Mitchell Center about her college recruitment and advice from her sister...... I am under the impression that Elena Mireles is Jeanette's younger sister "Ellie". Also that Jeanette's nickname is "J-Bird".

Except for the Pepperdine coaches who were BOTH there, Head and Assistant.
And yes, Ellie IS Jeanette's little sister. They had to play against each other last summer at a tournament and Jeanette beat her 0 0. The beat down was so bad that Jeanette cried after beating up on her sister so bad.

They got in trouble for it too, since it was a dead week.
Mary is playing major STUD tennis right now. Everything about her game is better than it was last year and to watch her in the points she does lose, you can hear her grumble a little but only for a second or two, then it's to the next point and being pumped up with jet fuel. She absolutely refuses to dwell on anything but a second or two. These refs aren't the greatest either. A number of their calls are questionable at best, but she plays through absolutely everything. Which is exactly what you should do. A lot of these ladies show a marked slow down in their play on shots that looks like the ball should be called out, but not Mary. It's like she's a machine.
