Carson had hip surgery last week due to an injury that started at an event in Lubbock back in the fall. I think she has now shifted some of her focus on financing a new Tennis complex.
Ma goes down and is getting taped up on Court #1. This is after the second pretty scary skid she has had. Mary is up 6-2, 3-2.
Jeanette loses 6-3, 6-1. Georgia up 2-0.
What's with miereles? She completely unravels at the first sign of adversity? She is super talented, more so than her opponents usually, maybe it would do her well to play higher than six, her game is suited for it.

Mia ran out of steam for sure. Jeannette might have also. This is tennis. Unfortunately, some days your best stuff just isn't there.
I'm glad line 3 got a win this weekend but it does seem that we have to rely on lines 1 and 2 to never make a mistake. That's a lot to carry each match. I'm sure they are all frustrated. It's been a good season. Let's hope they rebound and can get hot as a team through the championships.

This is one case where I think the ranking system will actually help us.
I know any other sport we'd have a new number one and number two next week, but I'm pretty sure UNC stays 1 and we stay 2. I think the gap was big enough that no one can jump either team regardless.

Just wish we had a solution to 3 doubles. But. We don't. Praying they can somehow find a connection as they progress through the championships.
The freshmen have been outstanding this year. The pressure got to them today but Georgia did what they needed to do.

Agreed. Don't think you can use it as an excuse here though, UGA had just as tough of a match yesterday against UT. UGA was the tougher team today. Won the big points. Still extremely proud they put themselves in position to win! Amazing season and still a bigger trophy to win.
Daria needs to find mental toughness. She's extremely athletic and can hit all of the shots, you can see her inexperience today. Got out smarted today by a very good 5th year senior
