Whats annoying is the numerals we use in like every other sport are great. The Johnny Manziel era beveled numbers are the most "Texas A&M" instantly recognizable jersey design elements that have ever existed, but even with just the basic font that we mostly use now I can pretty much instantly recognize like our basketball or baseball jerseys from the numerals alone (most of them anyway, I also notice when we dont use them on some versions for whatever reason), and its not like they are super weird or different, they are just subtly unique.

We need an overhaul desperately with our jersey template. Numbers are like something from a 1990's computer game. Font and lettering on across the chest is trash and its very high school to have anything across the chest.

coming a the end of a 50 page blog, I don't know if I'll get an answer or a horse-laugh, but here goes.....What's a "bevel"? Why should I care? Who does it matter too? Who created it and for what reason? Would someone show me a picture of the "BEVEL" Why is it bad or good? For hundreds of Ags to have responded, it must be a big deal or is it the BAS venting.

The bevel is the one on the left/middle. It attempts to make the ATM somehow 3-D with the sun/light bouncing off one or many illogical sides. Nike concocted it in 1999 and it sucks. Jason Cook, who was a very low IQ employee, embraced it. It needs to die a fiery death still all these years later.

Jason cook left in 2012 to go back to Baylor where he belongs, but for reasons no sane person can justify, the Ags have not moved on from his worst travesty.

I too like the aTm without the bevel and want TEXAS AGGIES used in the endzone. Ever since leather helmets ended the game has gone downhill and don't even get me started on the creation of the forward pass.

I was pretty MEH about the bevel until I read the letter. Now I get it. I am on board. Delete the Bevel.

I have and always will hate the bevel. I buy anything thing I can that doesn't have the bevel or says Texas Aggies.

Hopefully one day the administration will come to their senses and fix this travesty.

Like the bevel or not, Jason Cook was not even alive when TAMU started using the bevel. I first visited the campus when I was five years old to watch my CO '59 uncle's Final Review. My mom bought me a jacket, tshirts, etc.- all of which had bevel logos.

I hear the plan is to drop the bevel when we move to the Big10 because people will be talking about the move and won't even notice the bevel is missing

I bet that was probably the Texas Aggies Block T with the seal over the middle of the T, that was a drop shadow, not a bevel. There is a difference. I have no problem with that logo because it is actually done correctly, but again, the bevel makes no sense.

Unfortunately, in the middle of that block T, that's not even Texas A&M University's Official Seal anymore. The new University seal has, of course, a beveled aTm.

Yes, I was quite disappointed when they changed the university seal. I remember walking through the MSC during my NSC 20 years ago and we walked by all the wood carvings in the hall and one of them was the seal, and the guide mentioned how different aspects of the seal represented different things from the university. I can't find a guide that explains it off hand, but for the university to just change the seal because "branding" was one of the dumbest moves that they've made in years, and they've made several. The fact that they continue to double down on this absurd logo just continues to befuddle me. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will ever be a billionaire donor with enough sway to get it changed, so I just buy old A&M gear on ebay that isn't beveled and wear that.
