I thought I would catch up on some light reading so I pulled down War and Peace from the bookshelf. Then I thought, naw, too long a read. I go to TexAgs and started reading this thread. I chose poorly.

God, I like Texas Aggies better too, but the way you argue things is way over the top and aggressive. When I read your points my first inclination is to point out why you are choosing bad points and are presenting them in inappropriate ways. You argue in a very divisive and angry way.

You make me want to disagree with things that I like because of the way you debate.

And lat, your business savy is pretty lacking. Companies have been crippled by the inefficiency and impossibility of trying to please all customers. And I think you're trying to use the 80/20 rule to support your claim of not ignoring some customers. I'm sure the people who aren't purchasing beveled items don't make up 80% of historic revenues.

Here's my OPINION:

This thread is a ****ing microcosm of our culture in the 21st Century. It's a logo, for a resource sapping, bloated state institution who's only claim for your attention, at least on this site, is a GAME played by kids (or barely men)...

The fact that some obviously intelligent people are getting so worked up as to personally attack others (yes, Ragnar D and STX, you are personally attacking other people, as have many others on this site) is truly mind boggling.

What does this amount to in the end? A logo on ESPN or a baseball hat or a polo style shirt? The letterhead on your personal stationary that happens to be a representation of your longing to belong so much that your only claim to "fame" is the university you attended? Seriously, this is what you are hacking each other to pieces in the Internet about?

If one of you pulled his head out of his ass long enough to breathe clean air for three minutes and put this energy into something that actually matters, there's no telling what you could accomplish.

But hell no, you'd rather argue about three bars on a ****ing T, or personally attack someone for not liking the three bars on a ****ing T than do something of actual consequence...

Here's a ****ing hint: the bevel doesn't matter, and neither does the opinion of a few self important people that hate the bevel.

Or at least discuss it without tearing each other down. You'd think that this site was full of a bunch of kids that got their **** kicked in on the playground and are out for revenge....

I am not an Aggie, but from what I know about them, you guys should be better than this.

I am not referring to the Pareto Principle. I said that good companies FOCUS ON reaching customers that they can get through product differentiation, price points, etc.

All companies ALL COMPANIES focus some part of their energies on lost revenues, whether they realize it or not.

That is not the same thing as trying to please all customers...

What i think is...if it aint broke, dont fix it. if the marketing dept thought to change it years ago. Then it must have been broken or needing a tune up.

Fact: sales have never been higher than they are now.

Why change it? Because you and a small % here on the.....drum roll, internet dont like it? wow!

Heres a thought. Dont waste your time campaigning to change it. Get a new hobby or get more friends. To exert all this effort and time means you have too much time on your hands

I despise the bevel and wish it would go the way of the dinosaurs but if it must stay then it should be everywhere - even and especially on our helmets.

I take this just as seriously as a sip would take it if Dodds decided to put nostrils on the bevo logo. Dodds has ruined a lot of things for tu, but if he did that he would be toast,, because a school's logo IS important.

So, you are rationalizing why it is OK for you or others to personally attack others and call them insulting names and curse at them. If someone posts an opinion that is different than yours then they "must" be a troll and it is OK to treat them as mean spirited as you want. History is full of organizations and people that think this way..."end justifies means".
