They are adult legos... most of the fun is assembly and looking for launched detents.

If you haven't bought BCG or buffer parts yet, take a look at Dead Foot Arms. They make a folder you can fire with the stock folded.

It's the folder, BCG, buffer, sling and tube, IIRC. Not really that much more than all those parts with the law adapter, and has the capability to fire when folded.

Yep, on my first build too haha. I probably shouldn't have shelled out 500 and almost doubled the cost of my build, but I caught the full blown gun fever and said what the hell. I also just matched into residency so it was somewhat of a treat to myself.

Yea, that is correct, also I think if you already have a BCG then you can send it in for them to machine for free if you buy the system. That'll save you $100 bucks.

So the Dead foot is 500

The law is 200, MFT stock kit is 75, the aim BCG I have listed right now is 119.

So using the Law is 400ish instead of 500

Think I'll stick with the law, I've seen it on sale some which drops it a bit more and I like how it doesn't have any extra sticking out to the side when its not folded like the DFA does. But time will tell which one ends up on the gun

Heading to Baltimore, good for me, not so much for my gun hobby.

@eyeguy Coincidentally, I'd hate if you posted about optics, since I may or may not be in the market for a decent budget scope (maybe at most ~200-300?) for my build, but unfortunately that will have to wait until I start pulling in a pay check... so I'll check back with you in July haha.

I have a feeling... the deals are going to start flowing. I may be wrong but... I'm snagging some insanely good deals on stuff that I haven't seen since I opened. The industry is down. We're rocking and rolling (thanks OB for that!)

Well, I may have to move my time table up then. I'll be on the lookout for those deals.

Curious how many of you guys check headspace on new builds. I didn't on my first. But wondering if I should before shooting my second build. If you are using quality parts for your barrel and bcg (Aero and Ballistic Advantage), is there much to worry about?

My understanding it more your BCG and Barrel. I have see some charts where barrel manufacturers will list what BCGs work with their barrels and visa versa. I do because I enjoy that peace of mind but if I remember right most on this board don't.

If you're using a reputable barrel manufacturer, it's not an issue. In fact, I can think of one gun that we have built that had headspace issues and it wasn't really even a true headspace issue it was just something that would have been discovered with a headspace gauge but it was a grendel that already had a matching bolt with it. Oddly enough, it was an Odin Works barrel.

In fact, in retrospect, I don't think we even assembled that gun. I think that was a kit gun....

Big brother/little brother picture.

Love my new lightweight but I'm still a sucker for the 20". They're just smooth shooters.

Needs a SSA-E though, and I might put an identical ambi safety/charging handle on the 20" gun.
