For $1k (maybe a little less) you could build/buy a high quality AR

Aero Upper $100
Midwest industries Handguard $200
Gas tube and block $75 or less
Lower (brand doesn't matter much) $100 or less
Stock and grip $75 or less
Parts kit $50 or less

You can easily build a good quality, accurate AR for $1,000

Nice build! Where did you find the ASR flash hider for 45? I see they are close to 70 most places and I need a couple.
Got the flash hider (a couple actually, and two muzzle brakes) from Capitol Armory during one of their specials in late August. They were half off (normally 90). Hell of a deal. CA does great deals from time to time.

My forensic analysis concludes that he did in fact mirror the picture and you are looking at a right handed AR. I based my conclusion on the piece of paper on the carpet above the weapon.

Yes. Sorry. I did in fact use the "flip vertical" feature on my computer as the picture took upside down on my phone. Resulted in the mirrored look.

Asking about the helmet setup or the specs on the goggles? On the left, those goggles are OMNI VII Sentinels and that's a PEQ-15 mounted to my rifle. Basically the same setup on the right, only those are ANVIS 6 with OMNI VII tubes.TX_COWDOC said:

Christmas was good. Mrs. Clause got me most of this.
Learned the only downside of switching to Geissele triggers today.... My carbine did have my G2S-E in it until I got to finishing my 20" build but now the carbine is back to its RRA NM 2 stage since the G2S-E was orginally for the 20". Staying with some family who have land and shooting out to 500 isn't near as much fun now that I'm not shooting a Geissele anymore.
Which probably means a Hi-Speed National Match for the 20" eventually and I'll move the G2S-E back to the carbine.

Not my best work and a few misses for sure but had fun at 400 today. Far corner in the picture is 450 yards. Either need more glass or bigger steels for 450 can't see that well enough to tag it more than 1in3 at best.
