For the record, I do not the the board of Twitter would fare well in a shareholder derivative suit. The result could be a pretty quick settlement for an agreement to put the offer to vote.

Likely waiting/hoping for some alphabet agency (SEC/DOJ) to manufacture either a stalling tactic or a spurious reason to derail the offer/acquisition "by whatever means necessary." The left will be all in to avoid losing its most powerful social media microphone.

Nevertheless, EM appears to be a good bet to win.

Does it? Taking a company private restricts the number of shareholders but it doesn't limit it to only one.
This is a confusing post to me.

Any competing tender offer would most likely be for a controlling position, probably all of it. Musk's offer is for 100% of the company.

I guess a competing offer might be just enough to secure enough votes to deny Musk's offer, but Musk would probably sell and move on at that point.

Engineers are populated with autists. He can find plenty that would want to work at Twitter.

Step 1: Remove disinformation labeling.
Step 2: Stop permabans and move to suspensions. Don't even have to change moderation policies drastically.
Step 3: Fix monetization.
Step 4: Transparency in algorithm/moderation.
Step 5: Culture change.

Won't even realize it's happened until half of your pronoun people have disappeared and you look around wondering what to call people in the third person. The first cull would be voluntary if the sale goes through.

Oh yeah there would be mass resignations of Twits if he buys the company. If you don't work for a big tech company it's hard to grasp what a collection of limp wristed betas work at these places. Whiny and entitled doesn't even come close to describing these titty babies. If we don't have enough vegan options for the free catered lunch every day they shriek on Slack about how horrible things are getting. Meditation rooms, bidets in the bathrooms, everyone telling you their pronouns. I get a kick out of it regularly.

So Vanguard is taking a position to try and play a game of Meskin Sweat with the richest man on the planet that's living in a box house in Boca Chica? That's ironical. But I wonder how the 401k people that Vanguard represents feel about them playing games with their money?

BlackRock and Vanguard Group are two of the world's largest asset management firms and hold significant shares in both major defense contractors and mainstream media organizations. They also represent 90% of the 401k portfolios in the US if what I'm reading is correct. They are putting a list of risk on peoples' futures if Twitter decides to go the poison pill route. This is a dangerous game they are playing with other people's money.

But it's not OK that Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter and reduce censorship on the platform, so let's go and play high stakes poker with a guy who really likes to gamble, what could go wrong. Musk drop another 1% of his worth to double his position and hold even more leverage?

One of my favorite memories was some little kid rapping insults to me through an entire Left 4 Dead campaign. He even stopped for the loading screens and picked right back up. It was really entertaining, and we both laughed about it. This was about 12 or 13 years ago.

Somebody that has a significant (to me) amount of money in my 401 that is mnaged by Vanguard, i vehemently am against any measure or move they take that could put my money at risk.

Unfortunately i dont have enough to have pull with them. All i can do is move my money to another investment firm at the first opportunity should they play this game. And i wll.
