And live sports cannot be undersold. It's still the money maker for media and X absolutely crushes here. No one else is close. Coupled with what we heard this cycle regarding college and pro athletes overwhelming support of Trump, I think it's pretty safe for now.

The question to me is do the advertisers return and can it make money... but I don't know how much Elon cares about that in the short term.

The only other social medium I use besides Texags is Facebook. I have never used Twitter or Bluesky (which I just recently heard of).

I have noted that a number of my friends on Facebook who voted Democrat have decided to leave Twitter and go to Bluesky and are recruiting others to do the same. One is a cancer patient who has become very active in patient advocacy and said she was tired of the "hate and porn." One is anti-Musk. I don't know about the rest.

Is Bluesky going to be a threat to Musk?

Uhhhh, maybe if you would've paid more attention to this part of Bernie the Commies quote "Are we still a democracy or have we moved to oligarchy and authoritarianism"? you might understand my comment better.

Besides, government shutdowns are a dime a dozen. Government employees usually come out of it smelling like a rose since there have been times where they didn't have to work during a "shutdown" but got back pay for all that time anyways, especially those considered "essential employees". That would include Holiday pay, night differential, Holiday + night differential pay, Sunday differential, Sunday night differential pay etc.,... So yeah! It'll be a very Merry Christmas for them!
