I hope the alphabet bureacracy leadeship is ready to deal with endless investigations of their activities starting Nov 2022.
Honestly, I don't believe they will.

First of all, I'm not sure the "good" Republicans have much faith in the investigators. Secondly, about 30% of elected Republicans would likely not support any sort of investigation, either because theyre friends with the targets, or because they to are involved directly, or tangentially. Thirdly, It would easily be two years before any investigations are complete.

I'm not saying don't do it, but it damned well better be specific goals, and the good guys better have a say in who does the investigating.

None of that surprises me. I thought the old "$420.00/share" was old news.

To me, that was about two years ago. I knew there would be lawsuits when he said it, but kind of figured he'd have that one put to bed.

Either way, every topic you brought up will be rehashed by the compliant media several thousand times. In fact, a meteor could hit Earth next week, and the sidebar Musk stories would be the headlines.

I have a serious, nave question. Musk's offer is for 100% of Twitter. What happens if a stockholder, no matter how small, refuses to part with his stock; for whatever reason?

The board (elected by the shareholders) authorizes the sale of all shares for whatever price.

This. And shares have contractual actions. Same way the board could vote to split shares, change dividends, buy back shares, etc.

How does it get turned to a private company after that?

Are you saying that if I own 100 shares, I can be forced to sell them against my will?

Changing the culture of a company is easier said than done.

Twitter ain't rocket science. Room full of junior developers, a few managers & execs…plus sales and marketing….Tesla and spacex on the other hand are real companies facing complex issues trying to make complex tangible products.

I'll bet there is layer upon layer of typical Silicon Valley largess to cut out at twitter…not to mention useless woke VPs out the ying-yang.

Twitter's current Equity and Inclusion Officer better have that resume out.

Let's just get this out of the way up front. I ma not pretending to be stupid about this, I truly am stupid about. If I own those shares, why/how, can I be forced to sell them? Coerced by an inflated price, I understand, but someone else deciding how much I get for my shares, I don't.

Absolutely brilliant post.

We need a place where ALL ideologies, including those on the extremes or on the outside, can have open and free discussion. If you don't like the discussion, you are free to move on or block others personally.

I want leftists who are willing to engage in discussion to REMAIN. But those who demand censorship as a condition of remaining at Twitter...... they are incapable of engaging in good faith and are totalitarians. Let them cancel themselves from the forum of ideas.
I'm old enough to remember when Democrats would say "I might disagree with every word you say but I'll fight to the death your right to say it."

Now it's "I might disagree with every word you say and I'll label it as disinformation, get you banned and removed and use shadow ban and other measures to ensure nobody ever hears or reads any words you say or write."
Ah, I see your confusion. Socialists in this country call themselves democrats.

Yeah this. It's part of the fine print. Your broker is really the one handling it anyway, but if you and your lawyer had the shares yourself, you'd be in breach of contract if you didn't sell.

You own as many votes as you have shares.

It's not like Real Estate. You don't own 1 millionth of a percent of the Twitter headquarters just because you own stock.

If you want to get more money for your shares, convince the rest of the owners to say no.

That was the contract you signed up for when you bought the shares. If you disagree, argue against the company's formation documents. You agreed to this when you bought the stock.

Lots of posters were super cereal about the violations. Laugh at you.
