in Infinity War, it is mentioned that Vision is part Tony, part Banner, and part Ultron. What if SWORD meddled with him, and woke up the Ultron part, potentially looking to weaponize him? Wanda could actually be protecting everyone by suppressing Ultron/Vision in this false reality. Vision states that he cannot remember anything before moving to westview.

Maybe.

It is a pretty common sitcom trope to have a character that is mentioned but never seen (Maris on Frasier, Vera on Cheers, Bob Sacamano on Seinfeld).

I really think they are done with Ultron and it will not be something they go back to or dwell on.

No worries, I did too at first and posted the same thing you did a week ago.

I have not followed this thread, but my current theories (apologies if these have been hashed out already):

- As many have stated, Agnes is Agatha Harkness. I think she's more ally than foe, but is being held back from assisting too much because...

- Ralph is Mephisto and is manipulating Wanda to some degree. Amplifying her power, letting her live her dream life. What's the cost, I'm not sure. Ralph/Mephisto is Jimmy Woo's guy too. He'll be a big name actor who hasn't been revealed yet, but his role is limited in this series. More to set the stage for what's to come.

- Wanda will be the main antagonist, but the "showdown" will be more about getting her to come to grips with reality/mourning and recognize that she's being manipulated. Agnes, Monica and maybe Vision vs Wanda.

- Absolutely no idea how "recasting Pietro" fits. Perhaps Wanda blows open the multiverse as part of her unraveling and creates the mutants in this reality.

- Anyone catch the apparent reference to the Fantastic Four in episode 5? Monica refers to an aerospace engineer, and Reed Richards is an aerospace engineer.

You guys are being quite thorough with your theories! However, I suspect that half the stuff being brought up here will never be addressed on the show.

I tend to think all of this is right.

Also, re-watching the trailers is eye opening.

Yeah, all of the commercials are traumatic events that Wanda has gone through. That part I'm at least certain of. There's some other symbolism people have pointed out that I feel is kind of a stretch.

The toaster: The Stark bomb that killed her parents
The watch: Strucker, which who experimented on her and her brother with the mind stone
The soap: Hydra and the tesseract (This one is actually less clear to me on a direct reference to a traumatic event for Wanda other than the fact that she was kind of part of Hydra at one point)
Paper towels: Lagos, where she wasn't able to contain that explosion and killed some innocent people
One of those youtube videos mentioned that
The toaster with blinking light in the middle of the face is representative of the mind stone
The watch is the time stone
The soap, which takes you away from your daily life, is the space stone
The red spilled liquid in the Lagos commercial is the aether/reality stone

We all keep thinking only in context of this show (or maybe I do), but I love the idea that this show is introducing Mephisto and that perhaps that's the real big bad in Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness. Great point.

Marvel can have loose ends but overall they've been pretty good about addressing things and not leaving too many loose ends. I do think most of not all will be addressed. There's way too much going on that mirrors events in the comics for things to just never be answered. Again, as stated, this sets up Dr. Strange and Multiverse of Madness. If anything is left undone it will be intentional and addressed in the movie, IMO.

In general I agree with your assessment, but I will say this is their first foray into an MCU driven series. Things we consider loose ends might just be fun stuff they threw in, from a show maker's perspective. Right now, though, what things would we consider loose ends?

Biggest mysteries are
1 Who is the real villain
2 How/why Pietro is "recast" (Wanda subconscious creation or something else)
3 and basically why Wanda started this tv show in the first place, I guess

Does anyone really care if Ralph is real? lol
C@LAg

if there is another party involved, they would really have to lift the curtain on them this week so the third act is dealing with him/her/it.. We are at episode 6 of 9, and bringing in someone too much later would feel like a cheat.

and IMO Ralph is not real; just a TV trope being used.

What if Agnes is the real villain, but she is just a minion of Mephisto?

Sort of like how Loki and Ronan were working for Thanos early in MCU, but Thanos was still the big bad.

Ralph may be the Big Bad (Mephisto) without playing any major role in the plot of this series.

What if Ralph is actually William Ginter Riva from Ironman/Spiderman: FFH using the multiverse to assume his old identity of Ralphie from A Christmas Story and using the B.A.R.F. tech he stole to create Westview as an illusion?

absolutely and entirely possible.

But I just don't see them going that way.

I think Dottie has a bigger chance of being the Big Bad than "Ralph" does, but at this time there is not enough information.

This would so awesome on so many levels. I hope Riva is still in the MCU when Deadpool is introduced and they meet. The jokes will write themselves. Low hanging fruit for Ryan Reynolds.

Way too many logical leaps in this one.

lol, that would be hilarious. only problem is that Rambeau's bullet proof vest was actually converted to 70s clothes, and retained those properties outside of the illusion.
