I'm guess Mojave Rattlesnake and Red Racer (western coachwhip) assuming you are in Big Bend.

Both pics are from within 50 yards of each other. Another one too fast for a picture also seen there. Felt like being on Snake Island.

In that case it could also be a sidewinder. But I am not seeing the distinct horns, so I am sticking with Mojave until 12fmane or Badace tell me I am wrong. The other is definitely a Red Racer.

I MIGHT be able to upload a better picture of his head in a few days. I came back in the morning ( he went into that bush after rattling at one of the guys who was off to take a whiz yesterday evening) to get pictures of him with my "real" camera this morning. Had to move several branches of the bush he was in to get the shots I got. Those pics will have to wait until I'm back in civilization

I'd call that one a Great Basin rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus lutosus) but northern Arizona has some tricky rattlensnakes. The other one is a coachwhip (often referred to as a red racer in the west).

Awesome. Thank you. No snakes for 7 days then three within a couple hours. Was bizarre. That snake rattled at one of my friends walking by in the evening. Then he went into that bush. Stayed there the whole night until we left the next morning. Maybe had just eaten?

Terrible picture, but all I have. Found in garage near Cleburne (Southwest of Fort Worth). Any idea? Edited because it was NOT up in an electric panel. My sister-in-law was on her way to check the panel and saw this snake on the ground.

Either a plain-bellied watersnake or an eastern hognose, but tough to tell. Gut says the latter.

The facebook post from that is going as you'd expect.

People ripping on the parents and the mom telling everyone to go F themselves.

Classy, smart family there.

Hench why at our property unless you know snakes you leave them alone, they all have my number and told them if they have any doubt to text me a picture. Sister's inlaws think everything is a copperhead (which we do have a lot of) so for a while my cousins thought the same. The 12 year old is getting pretty dang good, is younger brother just doesn't care as much and stays away.

My 8 year old son gets it right around 80% of the time but at least when he is wrong he thinks they are the venomous ones so he listens to me on that aspect, if you are not sure assume venomous.

Just a pro tip.

Copy the post link in Imgur, not the Link and your pic will show up if you use the app or mobile

Looks like a "cow killer" or Velvet Ant but I offer no guarantees other than I have seen them before in person and they're usually a little more red than that.

That was my thought too. Had one of those last year that was way more pronounced in its coloring, so I wasn't sure if it was the same thing.

Thanks for the pic help and yep it was a pretty broad banded. Wish I would have gotten a pic when I first saw it. Very pretty coloration.

And thanks AggieData for the tip. I was looking all over for the link that ended in .JPEG so I could just post the photo but couldn't find it!

Saw this guy tonight on our walk. I couldn't get a good pic. Big snake. There are a lots of copperheads in my area but I don't think this is one of them.

It's definitely a velvet ant species. Several of the species look pretty similar. That one is probably in the Timulla genus.

Low on water. Needs some a shock.
