We signed the greatest recruiting class of all time 4 years ago. Those guys are now seniors. We are about to reap the rewards of that class.
Apparently, the previous staff had zero clue on how to develop elite HS talent into NFL-level talent.

College football is no longer college football.

They've been paying players since before you were born. They're just not lying about it now

Which previous staff?

Cause we've had a bunch of coaches waste NFL talent here..

Can we please stop saying this. Have they been paying players forever? Of course.

Has it been anywhere near this level of pay for play in the past? No, never. Not even remotely close. It has fundamentally changed the sport, and only a blind idiot would pretend otherwise.

My tu friends say that they weren't and that the proof is that they didn't get the kinds of players and recruiting classes in the past that they are now and will continue to get under the current system. They say that if they'd been paying players they would have been getting every Arch Manning under the sun. That's what they say. That's their arrogance.

Do you remind them of ricky williams coming bsck senior year? Or mack brown era recruiting? Or despite winning 5 games under charli strong they recruited top 5 classes?

The difference now is players were kept for a few years because transferring was hard. Now its much harder with players having free reign with no contracts

Saban has been cheating his whole career paying vast amounts under the table in college football...NIL took that advantage away from him and leveled the field a bit. It's what got Fisher in trouble with the media as he knows Saban's dark secret methods while at LSU.

Granted, Saban would get the players and then coach them (sort of -- berate and control college kids as his so-called coaching greatness sure did stink at Miami). But, statistically, if you have consistent large numbers of 5 star and high 4 star recruits, you are bound to get players who will drive themselves regardless (self-weeding of the incorrectly ranked with depth to cover).

Saban also lost control when kids became millionaires (so yes, that's definitely a part of it) as he doesn't want to be their friend and overpaid will change hierarchical power. Sark and Lane will pay and be your buddy.

Jury is out on Elko as he's trying to navigate by paying, but not necessarily at full market (or overpay) while wanting high-character recruits who are willing to be 'coached' (a bit of old school). Personally, like Elko's formula, but unsure if it will win or pay off 'soon enough' vs. other schools in SEC (many running rampant with payouts including UT, UF, LSU, Bama, UGA and of course tu).

Time will tell, but college football has changed and probably with it becoming only blue bloods controlling the landscape. For satire, will not be surprised if CFP will be setup to only be top 20 historic blue blood programs and all get pushed aside (A&M willl not be in that echelon ).

Seems like some fake outrage from fans of a team that we realize after the fact was on the bleeding edge of NIL bag slinging with our 2022 class. Which imploded on itself like a dying star in spectacularly embarrassing fashion. Other folks tried to tell us at the time and we wouldn't listen (myself included), we were so fixated on sliced bread and Saban v Jimbo that we couldn't acknowledge the grain of truth behind the exaggerated numbers thrown around. We were so convinced that our Sugar Bowl victory, Jimbo, and the strong in-state class were the real reasons for our recruiting success lolol

Maybe keeping Jimbo and spending more on NIL would have been more effective???

We have no money, the will to win nor the capability to win. No one wants to come here. Texas 8&4

Of the 134 FBS schools, well over 100 have no chance to compete with money. It was hard enough before NIL. They are now little more than FCS schools. Matter of time until the top division by whatever name has half or fewer than 134.

Unpossible, NIL purists told me that NIL has nothing to do with paying recruits to come to your school. It's all about their N, I, and L.
