Bump.

Which sites have the best Black Friday deals for barrels, traditionally?
Ballistic Advantage usually runs one... I can probably pull off a mini group buy for that since they usually do it off of dealer cost as well.

Hadn't really thought about this before...are there usually a lot of dealer price sales during times like black friday? Or are they before so dealers can have big sales?
The distributors generally do some type of Black Friday deals. They start getting pushed 1-2 weeks before BF. Lots of buy X get 1 free type stuff and some price cuts.

Brownells has the Law Tacical side folder on sale. $246 delivered ain't bad...

$239.99 is their normal price for them.
Combine it with one of their coupon codes, and you've found the cheapest way to get a new one.

Used can be found on AR15's Equipment Exchange for $200.

So let's say you want to pick up a few (about $1000 worth) stripped lowers to sell after the election, and you lived in dallas. What would you buy and where would you go?

Probably online and whatever is cheapest. It's still only one ffl transfer fee if they ship together.

Depends on the FFL. Some charge by the item and not by the shipment. Best to call ahead and check.

Oh, and don't publicly state that your purpose for purchase to resell when you don't have the proper licenses to sell firearms.

Ah. I thought it was one gun per transfer fee. Everything I have (except 2) has always been a private party

You might talk with eyeguy about a bulk discount, then have them shipped/transferred via this guy:

And do quality parts, not Anderson/cheap *****

would it still be an issue, if I only sold them with an ffl transfer?

I have no interest in doing anything illegal or bordering on illegal.

Fair enough. Doesn't sound like the risk is worth the little money I could make. I guess I will look at buying options for gun manufacturers' stocks as an election play.

Not bordering on illegal. It is illegal.

Anyone that is "in the business" of buying/selling firearms requires an FFL. Buying lowers at a low price to resell at a high price sounds like being "in the business"

Buy magazines instead. You will make more money without the legal implications. Buy lowers to stock away for a rainy day in case you want to build a gun later.

Me too Some of mine were Obama lowers too. The FDE Aero SBR I built out a few weeks ago came from my rainy day "SBR stash". I bought a bunch of Anderson lowers at $25 each and SBR'd all of them before giving up the FFL. The temptation was too much at that price

It's one thing to buy say 5 lowers and build 4 rifles and then you decide that you don't want to build anymore so you sell the last one. Your intent at purchase was to build all 5 and you just decided not to. No biggie.

If you intend to buy say 100 lowers to just hold and then resell, it could be interpreted and construed (and the ATF likes to do that to their benefit for prosecution, not your's) you're falsifying question 11(a) on the 4473 and violating gun sales laws because you are not a FFL licensed to sell firearms.

As said, magazines are the way to go to accomplish what you're thinking about.

Can anyone tell me which aftermarket butt stock and hand guards would fit on the NPAP yugo AK?
I'm thinking about getting one but kinda confused as to what fits between Chinese, Russian, Yugo, Zhukov, etc.

NPAPs have the fewest accessories, just fyi.

If you want to customize, I'd say go WASR or something nicer. Been pretty happy with the C39v2s that have rolled through.

Finally getting out to shoot the PSA Dissapator I picked up on a recent daily deal since we have a bye week. Quality meets expectations so far, so I'm excited to shoot it. I haven't read the whole thread, but has anyone picked up a PSA AK?

PSA left, KAC SBR right:

Good eye! Yes, it's a Mk13 Mod 5 (.300 win mag). M110 in the middle and M110K1 up front.

Forms went in after 41P ... it'll be quite some time before I see those.

Question about what buffer weight and spring to use...

PSA had a deal on a 5.56 8.5" SBR upper I couldn't pass up at the price it was at. What buffer weight and spring should I use? I have read some say use a 9mm buffer, then I read the length of it can cause the gas key to hit on the way back. I guess b/c the 9mm buffer is so short and the key hits before it bottoms out?

I also read reg carbine buffer will work fine and others say use H2 weight. I won't be running a brace or stock, so if one or the other controls recoil better that's the route I would like to go...and of course be reliable

So what says the AR Experts on weight? 9mm, Carbine, h2 or?

bump because I'm curious about this as well^

Want to get started on an SBR parts list
Mr. Dubi
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have a KAK 9mm buffer that is just a 5.5 oz carbine buffer--same length as a regular AR-15 buffer. You could try a heavier buffer to compensate for overgassing, or you could use an adjustable gas block. The buffer is cheaper and easier though.

Anybody have suggestions on triggers for a SBR build?

Right now I have a Rock River NM two stage and a G2S-E, thinking I'd rather a good single stage on the SBR.

This... buy all of them

http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/triggers/ar-15-m16-308-ar-ssa-trigger-prod31960.aspx

SSA-E is my favorite Giessele trigger.

Regarding buffers above, I run carbine buffers on my SBRs and have no issues

The triggers I linked are basically the same thing, can't remember which forum but one of the ones with Giessele employees had one saying that after a few hundred rounds the G2S-E breaks in and feels just like a SSA-E.

Thanks on the buffer info. I'll try a couple different weighs and see what happens

Triggers...for other casual shooters like me who don't want to drop $150-$200..I'm not a competition shooter or shooting stuff at 800 yrds. I just wanted something that felt better and would allow me to kill hogs. - Not that the mil-spec wouldn't have. But when the trigger on your 1894AE lever action feels better, time to make it better.

I just put in the Ni-B coated ALG ACT Combat trigger. I don't know if I lucked out or what...wow. 300% improvement. I installed the lighter spring (came with 2) best $60 spent so far. Feels much lighter that 4.5 lb pull.

http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/ALG_Defense_Combat_Trigger_ACT_Tuned_By_Geissele_p/alg-act.htm

I think Palmetto has them in stock.

The old mil-spec was really gritty and jumpy. You could not "squeeze" off a round with that trigger. Just when you think you knew where the sear was...BAM, it would be a little early, or next time late. Like it would hang. I swear it felt like a 10 lb trigger pull.

So with the new in I took the old trigger and I polished the take up and sear to a mirror. Used 600, 1200 grit, and jeweler's rouge. Super smooth now. It took alI of 30 min. Now I want to try a lighter spring on that to see if it feels similar to ACT. The polished old mil-spec will go in the SBR.
