Republicans won't win the presidency in '24 and could very well lose the house after all this done.

Stupid infighting taking place on this stage should have been settled weeks ago.
It was settled in a caucus vote, but these 19 refuse to accept the results of the vote.

Seems to be a new trend in the low-IQ faction of the party.
No one is obligated to vote for the person who wins the caucus vote. It's like some of you didn't take high school government class.
obviously they're not required to. But that's what playing for the team looks like.
Well this team sucks ass and needs a new captain. McCarthy ain't it
I hear you Irish. But the captain was chosen in the caucus vote. The winner is the winner and the loser just has to live with being the loser.
He isn't the winner though. Your premise of the caucus vote is no different than members crossing lines for votes on bills.

McCarthy is a loser. He said himself in 2015 when we went through this **** with him, and I quote, "I am not the that guy". He is not that guy and cannot unify the Republican house members. The freedom caucus is stubborn and heels dug in, that's why I love them. They will do McCarthy no favors if he is elected Speaker and I could see them torpedoing anything he tries until he steps down.
The other 203 don't want someone else though. The 19 need to get on board, not the other 203. Minority rule can't become the GOP standard.
Those 19 stop anything that McCarthy tries. The fact that McCarthy is doing this **** again after not having the 218 last time is bull***** He can't let this go for his ego. He needs to step aside for the good of the party.
Maybe the 19 need to put aside their ego and let this go.
You honeslty think that McCarthy is good for this party as Speaker?
Absolutely not, and only ultra low IQ people think he is. That'd be below 57. That's how it works, right?

Can you do math? Because 19 people do not speak for the whole country.

Not only that, 19 people in some of the safest republican districts out there. They are children throwing a temper tantrum so that they can go on fox later and talk about how much they stood up to the swamp etc.
Lauren Boebert barley won her race. I wouldn't call her district safe.

That would be her own fault for accomplishing literally nothing.

The establishment was too busy voting for the democrats' agenda up until the last hour last week.

After this clown show, republicans won't have to worry about republicans voting dem because dems will control congress again in two years.
And I am saying the clown show has been appeasing the democrats and not opposing Joe Biden for two years. Winning elections is irrelevant if you don't use the leverage you have.

Here is the question I want answered from the McCarthy fans; Why did he step aside when he knew he didn't have the votes in 2015, but has not stepped aside here when he does not have the votes?

Then don't say 19 people are of the safest districts. Not all 19 are safe, especially after todays clown show. Those 19 in 2 years, might be without a job.

Y'all realize this is why democrats win, right?

Because they manage to put their egos aside and stick together to get what they want done.

The dems are sitting here laughing at the 19.

If the 19 were really speaking for the rest of the country, they would be the majority. Alas, they aren't.

Not really. Democrats stay in line because they are either threatened or the leadership makes sure that whatever extreme fringe policy they want will get back-doored secretly.

The heart of the problem is that the leadership of the Republican party has only one priority - appeasing big business. If you're a candidate fighting for traditional values or individual liberty you are at odds with leadership.

Do you even get how dumb that sounds when you say that? His sycophants? If they were his sycophants and he is supporting McCarthy, they would be voting for McCarthy. It is almost like they have conservative principles that are independent of what Trump does or something...

No.

They are literally in the minority of the party.

Why not try and convince the 210 of folks who are against them to join them?

This is nothing but a temper tantrum from those who aren't in control. Much like many on here who complained about how the Squad threw their tantrums with Pelosi. The difference is that those girls fell in line.

I'm all about the chaos right now. It's not like they could get anything done, but I do recognize that those of you who are for the 19 are the same folks who were all in on the fact that the election was stolen, even though many of you have moderated on that stance.

The 19 aren't helping.

You're right. Should have clarified that one of them almost lost a traditionally safe district, even with the latest redistricting, because she refused to do actually do her job.

There are probably 150 of the 223 Rs that could win this vote with unanimous support from their caucus. McCarthy is one who can't. Why are there 200 Rs that are trying to force him through as the leader anyway? Why start this session with a leader that doesn't have the support of nearly 10% of the caucus?

Nope.

The 19 aren't helping what? They were elected to represent their constituents. Not you, not the caucus, not McCarthy, not the whole country. If their constituents don't like what they're doing, they can vote them out.

People just aren't used to seeing elected representatives stand up to the establishment. It's long overdue.

The Freedom Caucus has flat out stated that McCarthy would not be speaker. Period. And they said that back in November. No one seems to be listening to them, but maybe they are now.
