Who wouldn't want Jim Jordan to be speaker? I think he is great.
Apparently Jim Jordan himself. He just clearly stated on the floor that McCarthy is the right person.
Could be an olive branch to help McCarthy not lose face.

Liz isn't even in the House anymore. No way in hell she'd get it.

You don't have to be a member of the House to become Speaker

The Speaker does not have to be a member of the House.

So McCarthy raised 238 million for the PAC to help the GOP in the midterms? Im not seeing an issue.

No one would vote for her.

However, you don't have to be in the House to be elected Speaker of the House. It would be hilarious for the Dems to nominate her.

Shelia Jackson Lee for Speaker.

If we are going to embarrass ourselves as a country, lets go out in style.

The Dems should just coalesce and vote Pelosi in
A dem will not get it. The GOP would just keep calling for a vote and the dem will never be seated.
A Democrat likely won't, but Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger could.

It's more likely Trump would get it than has been Choking Cheney or Crying Kinzinger...

She lost for a reason. Reps would be crazy to vote for her now.

Yes.I am aware, but has there been a speaker that wasn't in the House since the founding of the USA? Also, there is no way in hell that conservatives would vote for Liz. She was stripped of her assingments and censured by her own state's party.

Didn't McCarthy work hard to get GOP candidates elected? If f16 hates a someone in the GOP I usually tend to think the inverse.
Look how well that worked out. GOP should've had 235+ seats in midterms and barely squeaked out a majority. Time for the old guard to wander off into a corner, sit down, and shut up.

Is Trump part of the "old guard?"

Chip Roy just said of Fox that the anti-McCarthy voters were threatened with losing committee assignments this morning if they didn't vote for McCarthy.

Good, no quarter for traitors.
I agree. The republican appeasers are traitors and should be treated as such.

Might be better for McCarthy to try to convince some Democrats to just miss the vote.

Either you believe in limited government or you don't. It's easy to point to things they've done that weren't conservative. Some of us compare them to the ideal, while others seem content to say that they're conservative just because they are less liberal.

This would be a bad move for McCarthy. It would vindicate the worries of constituents in the Freedom Caucus. Doesn't mean Dems wouldn't do it themselves just to throw a wrench in the works.
