They are literally in the minority of the party.

Why not try and convince the 210 of folks who are against them to join them?

This is nothing but a temper tantrum from those who aren't in control. Much like many on here who complained about how the Squad threw their tantrums with Pelosi. The difference is that those girls fell in line.

I'm all about the chaos right now. It's not like they could get anything done, but I do recognize that those of you who are for the 19 are the same folks who were all in on the fact that the election was stolen, even though many of you have moderated on that stance.

The 19 aren't helping.
When you say 'helping,' do you mean your side? Obama/Biden/Pelosi/CCP?

All I know is that your beloved Pelosi won't be speaker by any vote this year. Period. End of story, out of vodka/hammers.

Going to be hilarious if the moderate republicans figure out someone the dems are ok with and the 19 clowns voting against McCarthy get someone way worse.

My wife and I are the minority of our family. If my entire family voted for dinner every day then we would have had pizza and candy every time. If we voted on how to spend our days, then we would sit at home all week watching cartoons. No school, no work, etc. And guess what? Someday the consequences of that would bite my family in the ass just like RINOs going along with democrats will bite our entire nation (and the GOP) in the ass.

Of course, RINOs have more votes. They are throwing money out of helicopters. Who doesn't want "free money"?!?! We need adults to be in charge. Not RINOs who buy votes with taxpayer dollars just like the democrats.

There are probably 150 of the 223 Rs that could win this vote with unanimous support from their caucus. McCarthy is one who can't. Why are there 200 Rs that are trying to force him through as the leader anyway? Why start this session with a leader that doesn't have the support of nearly 10% of the caucus?
This is the million dollar question. McCarthy moved into the Speaker's office already. Crazy.

Yeah, we really need to get the leadership solidified so we can push through more $2T spending bills with a grab bag of leftist goodies.

Ukraine does need another 40 billion. Don't make Zelensky come back over here and tell us "what we need to do" as a country.

All these complaints from the conservatives didn't mind when McConnell used procedure, completely within his rights, to prevent Garland from being appointed to SCOTUS. These 19 are doing just the same. Using procedure

So why is McCarthy getting so much push back for the omnibus when McConnell is to blame and he couldn't block Pelosi from bringing to the floor of the House?

The first question to ask is what you mean by this, as an objective. To me, it can only mean investigations/disclosures.

Legislatively, with Brandon(*) in the WH and Schumer at the other end of the building, absolutely zero can happen, period, that is good for the republic. McCarthy, to me, is a threat to actually pass stuff that is further damaging both legislatively and fiscally, to say nothing of conservative/patriotic electoral prospects.

He's also a threat to obstruct actual disclosures/investigations. But I am trying to keep my keyboard quiet on all of that as again I think much of this is just theater/entertainment.

It's not a good point. Every single speaker that the 19 would support would also vote to fire 87,000. In fact, they would probably increase that to 100K.

Show votes the Senate will never pass. Just like Paul Ryan's budgets up until the day the GOP took back the majority.

Gonna be a lot of bad blood after this. I don't expect the Republicans to agree on any proposed legislation going forward.

Yes , I know the Senate won't pass anything coming out of the House but at least Americans could get a vision of what Republicans would do if they controlled the Senate and the White House and the House. People want to see solutions to real problems and they're not going to see squat coming out of the House.

Once again the Republicans are going to show America they aren't capable of governing.

I wasn't blaming McCarthy for it, and agree the turtle is to blame, just addressing the post above saying that this fiasco is preventing "getting anything done". Republicans aren't about to get anything good done if McCarthy gets elected speaker.

The House isn't going to pass anything of note no matter who is elected Speaker. The key is being able to extract concessions in must pass bills like the NDAA and dropping the vax mandate and who you trust the most to extract those concessions.

MTG is irritated that the 19 are getting to grandstand, and she is now part of the establishment crew having publicly backed McCarthy for whatever she was promised.

This is fun.

That and McCarthy has promised to get her back on committees if she supports him. That's all this tweet is about.

True, but in the end a politicians main job is to get elected so that they can continue to get kickbacks through campaign donations. In that regards she's doing just what she needs to, as they all are when it comes to these types of votes.
