Care to share with me how I can do that on this forum? No. Care to answer the question I did ask?

Easy: Address McCarthy supporters on this forum and ask them to explain how this works out good for R's when THEIR GUY negotiates concessions with democrats rather than do what is best for the party and country and step down.aggiedent said:
"Seems like the one you should want an explanation from are those on the side of the guy negotiating concessions with democrats."
Care to share with me how I can do that on this forum?
The answer is that if McCarthy is able to negotiate a deal with the democrats and is able to go through with it, then it will be bad for Rs. Which is why sane people want McCarthy to step down and say far away from any GOP leadership position.Quote:

FWIW, @ByronDonalds is not a historic candidate for Speaker. He is a prop. Despite being Black, he supports a policy agenda intent on upholding and perpetuating white supremacy.

His name being in the mix is not progress—it’s pathetic.

Mccarthy crossing the isle, at this point, is the most narcissistic, egotistical, "but it's my time" move he could make.

Everyone is talking about McCarthy negotiating with Democrats, while Kevin McCarthy is currently in a closed door meeting with the 21 members voting against him. I swear, the insider info in here is suspect most of the time.
We didn't make it up here. The sources are plain to see.98PercenterAg said:

So…. What you're saying is Kevin McCarthy is not currently negotiating with Democrats.Agthatbuilds said:
You know he has a staff, right? You know he's got a posse trying to get him elected, right?
Those people can be negotiating too.

NEW: MCCARTHY just walked into a closed-door meeting with his detractors.

Is that a gotcha of some sort? Trump isn't a conservative (which speaks volumes about the other ****ty, less-conservative republican presidents we have had since Reagan). I don't give the first **** what he thinks.BluHorseShu said:And TrumpEllis Wyatt said:Speaks volumes about what McCarthy and the establishment care about.Quote:
Somebody in the "stay firm" crowd want to explain to me how this works out good for R's in the end? Seems like dumbassery if this holds true.

Not that it will do any good, but I just called the office of my Republican congressman to encourage him to stop voting McCarthy if he can't make concessions that the 20 holdouts are comfortable with.
Wait, they don't?Agthatbuilds said:
I dont know. I didn't make the claim.
I saw a post of another congressman making such a claim. Do you think all negotiations are done person to person?
You probably think the congressmen personally write the bills, too.
How does that address anything I said?98PercenterAg said:aTmAg said:We didn't make it up here. The sources are plain to see.98PercenterAg said:

Okay. I don't understand what you're getting at. This thread has been going on for days and it has been reported they are reaching across the isle.
Whether it's Mccarthy himself, his staff, or supporters is irrelevant.
If they want to oust McCarthy, so be it. But I sure hope they can find someone better than Donalds. He's been in Congress less time than AOC. Someone the likes of Jim Jordan, Steve Scalise etc. with enough experience to advance our agenda would be a delightful alternative to the newbie from FloridaIrish 2.0 said:98PercenterAg said:aTmAg said:We didn't make it up here. Where everything is made up and nothing makes sense.
I get the sentiment, I really do. But it's a bit frightening that we could have a noob at the helm fighting against Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries and Jerry Nadler. These guys have been there for decades and know the ropes like the back of their eyelids. Byron needs a place in the leadership sure, he's proven that. But the head of the GOP needs to have been there long enough to know where the bathroom is.Irish 2.0 said:

For some reason, anytime someone says we need someone in leadership who knows the ropes... and the previous leadership has shown nothing but corruption, I take pause.
If the houses of government are setup in such a way that it takes experience to navigate the swamp up their, then burn it all down.
