I voted for Trump and this clown show aint nothing compared to the one DeSantis is going to start if he runs and splits the party.
Trump is the one who has fractured the Republican Party.

That's what we get for having a pos like Trump.

Get over your TDS Eric. Start another hate thread.

So Trump is supporting McCarthy in this. Does that make McCarthy a "terrible candidate"? Or does that only apply to candidates the establishment Rs didn't like?

DeSantis isn't going to be the one splitting the party if Trump doesn't bow out.

Well maybe McCarthy shouldn't have brushed off their concerns and potential support while he was under the assumption the GOP would win in the midterms by a landslide and he wouldn't need to rely on their votes. This is of McCarthy's own doing. His arrogance got him here.

What kind of leader ignores the people that he claims he will lead?

Arrogance and/or inability to lead. But you are 100% correct. This sausage making happens all the time, normally behind closed doors. We just don't see it. This day has been an indictment of McCarthy's ability to unify the party. That's much is incontrovertible regardless which side you support in this battle.

McCarthy knew this in 2015. He thought he'd have the numbers to win by "stamp approval". He didn't.

There's no goalie gloves, they both suck. McCarthy is John boehner minus the tan and this group is just clowns with a different color nose. So find a different talking point than moving the goalposts or goalie gloves.

Well at least part of their complaint is that he has screwed them over or changed positions after making deals with them in the past. So maybe they are actually smart enough to expect that he won't change that habit in the future. Their "demand" appears to be that the party elect somebody besides him to lead the house. With 220+ to choose from, surely he is not the only one the rest of the party will accept?

Why do you think this is "set yourself on fire bull..."?

Look where the status quo has gotten us to this point. The country is a disaster and it's probably too late to do anything about it, BUT...

The country cannot be saved just throwing out an anchor that keeps getting dragged closer and closer to the point of no return. Kevin McCarthy represents the status quo - we can't afford that anymore. This fight in the House is about those that recognize that its now or never - things must change drastically or it doesn't really matter.

Until people start openly discussing politics with family, friends, co-workers, and the general public, the low information voters will keep voting for the same establishment politicians until they are hurting so bad it is near impossible to correct.

The people on this forum are likely more informed than 99% of the general voting public yet I would venture the vast majority here are too scared to talk politics with peers out of fear of losing a friend, family member, or their job, etc. But to continue down the same path by avoiding conversation means you are allowing the ignorant to choose politicians that are actively taking more from you than had you simply had those conversations yourself....

Put the effort in and you will not have to worry about how much damage McCarthy is going to cause or how little he is going to prevent.

If someone starts aggressively discussing politics with me out of the blue I am walking away immediately. Way more important things to deal with in day to day life.

Yet here you are on Tuesday alone posting sixteen times ... so far!

You should probably post less if the above is how you feel. But I would like to know why a leftist would say on a conservative blog that they bolt when someone wants to engage them in a political conversation?
