but wasn't the time to take this stance when the caucus voted 180 to 30 (ish) to nominate McCarthy? Why not fight then and not allow the vote to happen in the first place..or battle hard enough to have someone else nominated?
Once McCarthy was nominated it was "over". I get standing on principle, especially for the first vote, but after that? These 15-20 have the power they wanted now. They can vote to remove McCarthy at anytime. It only takes 5 GOP members to go along with the 213 dems to remove McCarthy. That is something McCarthy negotiated with them.
