If Republicans are going to fight, we ought to be fighting Mitch McConnell and his domineering, China loving BOSS, I mean wife, Coco Chow. The harm they have done to the Republican Party is incalculable. Today, he couldn't be elected "Dog Catcher" in Kentucky (Sadly, he only won because of my Endorsement, went up 21 points - SORRY!).

Neither is the military component.
How would you compare those aspects in the US to, say, the insurgencies in Iraq and Afghanistan? I am pretty sure there are quite a few ex-military and/or law enforcement that have a lot of guns and ammo stashed away that are pretty upset with the way things are going.

Throw in a couple of Toyota Tacomas and there could be problems.

You don't have to be ex-Military and/or law enforcement to have lots of guns and ammo stashed away.
True. I had a 9mm and a bit of ammo myself, before they were all lost in that boating accident. Even back then, though, I was fat, lazy and had no military training.

Well, that was his position when he ran in 2016, so it should not be a surprise!
Fair enough.

I am guilty of compromise on this issue in the past. I will no longer compromise on baby murder at all.

Larry Kudlow just said "I don't even know what the Republicans stand for anymore."

Agreed. What does McCarthy stand for that doesn't relate to his pocket book or re-election.

Also astutely pointing out this likely resulted from the funding bill.

Sober Kudz is probably one of the smartest, even keeled political economist out there.

Watching him at 3pm cannot help but make one wiser of current situations and history (economics centric).

And now the republicans are negotiating concessions with the democrats to lower the threshold number so he can be chosen.

Somebody in the "stay firm" crowd want to explain to me how this works out good for R's in the end? Seems like dumbassery if this holds true.

This country is too fat and lazy for a civil war.
How many do you figure would have to actively participate? If the fat a lazy sit it out, can the fit and motivated not still do things? I mean, a lot of men participated in the civil war, but not everybody did.
Why do people think that fat guys or even guys in wheelchairs can't use a gun? I have never understood this.....

A fit person with no tactical understanding and no proficiency with firearms loses to a guy 50 pounds overweight who understands both........ every time.
I took him to mean metaphorically fat, like has too much to lose to run off to fight a war.
My apologies.

My point remains however.... the assumption that physical fitness in the age of firearms is required in every war situation is laughable. I have seen a LOT Of fat Ukranians and Russians in military gear fighting.

The mockery of these guys is all fine and dandy, But chances are that they can hit a dime with an AR-15 at 150 yards.

Mine were lost when a gust of wind blew them out the back of my truck and into the Mississippi River in Louisiana. Very unfortunate.

I would assume the "stay firm" crew was hoping that the other 201 Rs would rather work together with their fellow republicans to find a leader they could all agree on instead of conspiring with democrats to ram an unpopular choice down their throats. It goes a long way towards explaining their antipathy towards McCarthy when you realize this is how he has handled their disagreements with him over the last several years as well.

Seems like the one you should want an explanation from are those on the side of the guy negotiating concessions with democrats.

McCarthy should endorse Donalds and step aside.

He is the compromise candidate.

Donalds is freedom caucus, but voted for McCarthy first couple of times.

Negotiating with Democrats for Speaker shows the true stripes of anyone doing so.

Yes - there are a few things we can agree on... but the management of a GOP majority house should not be negotiable. The GOP establishment must make concessions to Gaetz and others...... not Democrats.

Makes you wonder if Donalds is being used to actually get the Dems to concede.

If you don't give us McCarthy, we will give you Donalds and take away your first Black speaker prize.

Virtue signaling is a core value of Ds. Actually gives McCarthyists good leverage.

Yeah but if that dime is moving around and causes them to exert any energy… their accuracy falls exponentially. And if the SHTF during lunch time…all bets are off

I agree. It's nice to see at least some Republicans with a backbone and will to fight for their ideals. If they win out, I might have to stop calling the Republican party 'feckless' at every opportunity.

Not to go off topic,

I just ordered some food at a restaurant and paid cashed for it.

Tell me why, I'm seeing an ad for it on Texags. I even have my location turned off.

Guess my FBI agent is back from vacation.
