Yes, demanding that people that voted for McCarthy resign is a wild take, but fearing blue vs red is missing the forest for the trees.Legal Custodian said:And then we can have a blue House instead of a red one. Great idea!SociallyConditionedAg said:

I would gladly give up two years of a blue SOTH if it meant that a new wave of politicians can enter in the GOP that ideally are more conservative than the McCarthy establishment types.
Unfortunately the vast majority of people are sheep with their head in the sand and will gladly walk off the cliff when their leader leads them to the edge.
There is a part of me that wants to let the Left have EVERYTHING at the federal level. And see how far the Red States will allow themselves to be pushed before they say ENOUGH.Legal Custodian said:And then we can have a blue House instead of a red one. Great idea!SociallyConditionedAg said:

D have Presidency,
D have Senate with VP tie breaker
R has the House.
Under these conditions not much will get passed legislatively from either side.
Even if we had a D SOTH, that does not mean that D controls the House. It's not like if the D SOTH refuses to bring R majority legislation to a vote will matter because it will not get passed in the Senate.
What's the harm in this scenario of holding ground against McCarthy and forcing him to deal with D's thus exposing his lack of conservative ideals?
Accepting concessions now just keeps the status quo where establishment gives an inch but takes a mile, though this would be one of the rare times where establishment gave an inch.
That would possibly happen on January 13, not today.DallasAg 94 said:
Not sure if it has been said, yet.
If a Speaker isn't decided today and the newbies allowed to get sworn in... NOBODY gets paid. Not even Staffers.
A Speaker was going to be decided today. That's how it works.
It would be so sad it congress members and staffers missed their taxpayer provided checks! So sad!TXAggie2011 said:That would possibly happen on January 13, not today.DallasAg 94 said:

Gaetz said yesterday he would resign if McCarthy became speaker.
Cite the quote again.... because I understand that he said he would resign if there was a deal with Democrats to give the speakership to McCarthy. I did not see that he would resign if McCarthy became speaker.MR Gadsden said:

Apparently, after announcing the election lawsuit in Florida, the Trump wing of the GOP and the entire Dem wing are teaming up to vote in Mike Lindell.
They're also getting custom pillows for every chair in the House for a whopping 75% off, but they have to order now because supply is limited.
McCarthy up to 213 votes - 3 short of winning on the last count. Just renominated again.wbt5845 said:

Force the RINO's to admit they would rather side with the D's than support a conservative candidate and agenda and hopefully the sheeple will finally get to see the wolf in sheeps clothing that they foolishly have been voting for these past decades and thus correct their voting habits.
I thought the clerk had said a total of 431 votes cast, but could have mis-heard.TxAgPreacher said:4 short I think because one came back.CowboyGirl said:McCarthy up to 213 votes - 3 short of winning on the last count. Just renominated again.wbt5845 said:
