Throw a few strawberries out where you last saw it. My coworker has one that roams an area that includes his yard and about 3 others around him. His always goes and checks out his compost pile then comes to the porch to see if he has put any berries out.

TPWD would love a sighting report to help their tracking program.

Every year I find baby red eared sliders in my back yard. We're a 1/2 mile from a creek. I release them on the bank. I feel like I'm saving the little guys a LONG journey.

Have yet to see an adult.

Golf course guys said they kill dozens of moccasins a year, they stopped killing snakes after they showed me pictures of a bunch of watersnakes

Only once have I had someone say it wasn't a copperhead and it was but that was due to the size being over 4 feet. Freaked him out until the shovel ended it behind a house

My turn. Seabrook, TX. Along Pine Gully. I think it is a water snake, but it is short and kinda stubby and didn't give two craps I was there. Didn't get close enough to see for markings behind the eye.




And, about 20' down the trail, saw this

Been a little busy around here. The wife has gotten used to the snakes. She doesn't like them, but she pretty much just comes and tells me when she sees one, like by the way, I saw a rat snake in the coop. You get to collect the eggs.

Another PBWS. We decided to let it go about its business of eating vermin around the house.

And a copperhead from one of my minnow traps.

My mom's former neighbor and friend passed away. He was unique to say the least. Loved the outdoors.

I'm good at differentiating between cottonmouths and water snakes, but pretty unreliable at distinguishing between the different varieties of water snakes. Ultimately, I guess it doesn't matter that much…either they're nope ropes or they're not; but I do prefer to know.
