I don't think we've taken a DT in the first round since Russell Maryland. I like adding this kind of quality size. We don't need to be prayer for Hankins to stay healthy.

Charlton was a defensive end. All this guy has to do is clog **** up and stop the run. He's probably really good at that. Big difference in what's expected from each player.

On the draft show... they are adamant that this guy is better than Hankins right now.

He's a 1st/2nd round grade on everyone's board. Not a bad pick at 26.

Nolan Smith has obvious warts and it's a deep TE class. This was not a bad or reach pick at all.

Go back to the season and recall how badly they kept getting gashed up the middle in the run. It killed them in some games. Changes so much if you have a clog guy like this that you can then turn those great edge guys they already have on their roster loose on 2nd and 3rd and longer

Yep, its a position that isn't sexy, but when you can get a stud in that position it makes all your other players better
