So did we get some foreshadowing that BY, or Grogu whatever you want to call him, is going to turn to the dark side further down the line?

I doubt he actually fully turns to the dark side but you could argue it's first hinted at/foreshadowed with him having conflict in the first season in episode 7 when he force chokes Kara

Here is my updated theory, really just more info to support it after this week's episode:

So after reviewing everything we know I am becoming more and more certain that we will not see Sabine Wren in this season of The Mandalorian, until the last episode if not next season. I am fairly certain that the final scene in Rebels takes place after this season of the Mandalorian. Here is why I think that:
1) Ahsoka hasn't moved to the unknown regions and is still in the "Outer Rim."
2) She also makes no reference of Ezra to Mando, you would think she would mention Ezra to him, especially since he is looking for a Jedi to train Grogu.
3) Sabine isn't with Ashoka and no one has mentioned her yet.
4) The two X-wing pilots have become a constant on the show, in the final scene of Rebels Ahsoka's ship is escorted by two X-Wings when she arrives on Lothal
5) The best way to launch an Ahsoka series or Rebels Movie is to link it to the best running Star Wars program.
6) No leaks on a potential actress to be playing Sabine.
7) The Beskar Staff looked to be just about the right size as the one seen at the end of rebels, a staff we have only ever seen once. The only difference is the Staff in this episode had a spear tip not a circle butwe all know Beskar can be reforged.
8) The addition of Thrawn to the plotline insinuates that Ezra is also still alive. Yes it could mean that Sabine and Ahsoka are both out looking for Ezra on Thrawn separately but that doesn't feel right to me. I do believe Ezra will be the one that Grogu reaches out to.

Final scene of rebels has a baby with Hera that is not 5 or 6 years old, which is the time frame of Mandalorian after Jedi. This show being before the end of rebels only works if the time we see Hera and the baby is waaay disconnected from Sabine and Ahsoka.

Since Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn, it's more likely that he has somehow returned from the unknown regions, which leads to speculation about Ezra and Sabine.

Maybe Luke? I think they could do it & do it well.

And who took him out of the temple to save him? Could be Kanaan Jarus master who later got killed. Would establish another link with Ezra

No no no.

If they are calling up Grand Admiral Thrawn, the correct answer is Jorus Co'baoth or Mara Jade. Give us the Thrawn Trilogy modified

I hope it is a Jedi that hasnt made an appearance in canon yet.

The timeline of the final scene in Rebels is all over the place, and the time frame is not well defined at all. What makes me think her search starts well after all the other scenes is this quote, "As for me, I used to think that Ezra was counting on me to protect Lothal, the planet and the people he cared for so much. But one day, I realized there was more to it. There was something else I was meant to do. Ezra's out there somewhere, and it's time to bring him home." The phrasing of it all makes it sound like it was much later than what we saw from the others.

Isn't it implied that the kid was Hera and Kanan's? So that would make him at least 9 years old since Kanan died before Rogue One. I think it's very possible that Ahsoka coming to get Sabine could be happening simultaneously with the Mandalorian.

This episode is what I've been waiting for all along.

Did anyone else see the Loth cat at 31:30?

I've been thinking...while there may be moments in the future that we may not agree on what direction the story goes, one thing is definitely obvious...

The big wigs involved with this story 100% care about the source material and are as passionate about making this as we are watching it and I base that on one thing: the trailers for season 2 only showed video of the first 4 episodes.

Seems silly to focus on that and it's already been mentioned on this thread....but they could've easily dropped clips of a lightsaber, or Ashoka, or ANYTHING from this episode to garner more attention and they didn't....and that made those pivotal scenes so much more impactful because we got to see it for the first time while it was happening.

Nothing during these final 4 episodes will be spoiled and they didn't advertise a single thing regarding these plot lines and it would have been so easy to do so.

This makes me so dang excited for what's coming for these last 3 episodes!

Will we see Boba Fett again? Will we even see the Slave 1?
When will we see Moff Gideon again?
What kinda of fire power are those black super-looking soldiers going to have?
Will we see Bo Katan again?
What other Jedi is going to make an appearance?

So much they could've shown to hype this thing up even more and they chose not to spoil anything. Couldn't be happier with this season and damnit next Friday can't get here fast enough.-

Qui Gon force ghost would be incredible

Some theorize Cal Kestis from Jedi Fallen Order and would be in time period. I think Ezra is still lost

Also Ahsoka's thought on the bond the two share of father and son brings back the Filoni monologue on duel of the fates from season 1 documentary

I'm all for cal kestis

On the lighter side of things, Beskar is turning into Valyrian Steel from Game of Thrones. It's the most precious and rare metal ever, but every rando in the galaxy seems to have some.

Seeing how well Mando's Beskar held up against Asokha's sabers, I suspect we'll see Moff Gideon in a suit of Beskar wielding the saber later this year.

So the imperials had beskar they pilfered during the purge and now this lady who was connected to an imperial had beskar. Probably also pilfered in the purge. How exactly does every rando have it?

And Gideon having it would make perfect sense. That's how Mando got it.

Is there any indication where the magistrate learned to fight so well?

I mean she held off a Jedi for a few minutes with a staff of beskar.

Who would you pick to play a live-action Thrawn? I actually think Paul Bettany would do a great job. Not sure if he perfectly matches the look, but I think his demeanor would work well.

Jason Isaacs always plays a pretty good villain.

She reminded me a lot of A dark side Donnie yen from rogue one.

Pierce brosnan would be fun. Wish we hadn't had Paul Bethany in Solo but they could work it out. He might be closer to the version that rebels had

Another great episode, but like last week I'm worried that they are getting close to making the galaxy small again.

Filoni and Favreau seem to get Star Wars in a way no one really has since the OT. But using this show to try to clean up all the messes of the last 20 years is going to be too much to handle.

Isaacs would certainly keep up the tradition of imperials being british.

But thrawn isnt a normal imperial according to the expanded universe, which has a much better story than the sequel trilogy, Thrawn is the only alien to ascend the ranks of the imperial navy. The emperor distrusts non-humans, yet Thrawn is so calculating, brilliant, and ruthless that even the emperor could not discard him.

I suggest folks pick up the Timothy Zahn trilogy (probably $.99 used on amazon) and see what SW could have looked like if Disney had the foresight to license these stories.
