I'd love to see a fat mid-life crisis Jar Jar, mellowed and wisened through tragedy and misfortune, who nobody believes used to hang out with Jedi and republic senators.

Feels like the digital face CGI is getting better by the month. Wonder if ILM might try to pull off a few short shots of Luke if that's all that was needed.

I feel the exact same way. I'd more than welcome a Jar Jar redemption story in the more-than-capable hands of Favreau and Filoni.
So Mark Hamill could play...wait for it...Anakin?Saxsoon said:I would be for it too, even Mark Hamill has said in the past he would be happy to play his father and that he is a fantastic actorTCTTS said:
He's already in the Disney family, and absolutely looks the part, so I'm all for it.
Jar Jar walks in right as Moff Gideon is dueling Ahsoka with her lightsabers, Gideon with the Dark Saber and Mando with the Beskar spear and they all three cut his head off simultaneously.Wheatables02 said:TCTTS said:

I'm good with this. If Favreau and posse can finally kill off Jar-Jar in an episode of the Mandalorian, they would reach legendary status.

The thing most people like about Filoni is that he seems to "get Star Wars" in the same way that those of us who grew up with it from the OT like to think of it and see. it.Ag Since 83 said:
Jar Jar in TCW was terrible, a big reason why while I like FIloni I don't understand the walks-on-water status he has with so many fans. If only we all could have everyone ignore our mistakes like him.
Would make this commercial oddly propheticHarry Lime said:So Mark Hamill could play...wait for it...Anakin?Saxsoon said:I would be for it too, even Mark Hamill has said in the past he would be happy to play his father and that he is a fantastic actorTCTTS said:

How is he contradicting the original trilogy? About there not being anymore Jedi? Surely you can agree there are probably lots of other beings with a Force connection in existence after the Purge. It wasn't like the Emperor had a detector that could sense if anyone in the galaxy was force sensitive and kill them automatically.Ag Since 83 said:
He's so much the "lore guy" he keeps adding more Jedi and contradicting the original trilogy right and left.
Also you ignored Resistance, again, because the bad stuff he creates doesn't count I guess.
Never mind his most famous show started with a terrible movie (that he directed) and that it's best watched if you ignore a lot of episodes all together, and only watch the good ones in a certain order you have to find online. Does that sound like a good show?
At least he gave us Thrawn back, but his depiction of him on TV is vastly different than the author's depiction in books.
And Ahsoka's an interesting character. I wish he'd killed her off the end of Rebels season

I haven't finished season 4 of Rebels, and I haven't probably read the Thrawn books in 20 years, but man I thought Thrawn was right on to Zahn's writing of him. Just a cool cucumber who is 3 times smarter than everyone else and is playing a long game that no one else can see.
That's actually something I really enjoy about The Mandalorian in general. All these characters we love are straight up killers, but they also have a genuine sense of honor and duty that feels very true to the show's universe.Ag Since 83 said:ChipFTAC01 said:

In his later EU books, and all his new canon books, Zahn makes it very clear Thrawn has a code, is a man of honor, that just happens to be on the Imperial side. But he disagrees with a lot of the Empire's more ruthless tactics.
The personification of him in Rebels comes across as the tactical genius he is, but also very sinister and evil and much more Imperial

Robot Chicken came up with the best Jar Jar end story, force ghost Jar Jar.Wheatables02 said:TCTTS said:

Ashoka's were awesome... loved that she would ignite them only when needed to remain hidden.
The dark saber was a bit underwhelming... a bit off that he took it out to show off to a child
