That is what happens when you combine low information voters (who cant even be bothered to spend a few minutes doing some research online) with straight ticket voting. You get the coattail effect where all urban and suburban counties go Left because of someone who is about to lose 3 major elections over the course of 4 years.
Trump had one of the most ideal conservative policies in a long time. His platform was exactly what a Republican President is supposed to be. He as a person, sucks.
So what your post insinuates is people should vote for nice people even if their policy sucks. And that's exactly how we've ended up where we are. Dems run "nice people" with horrible policy so suburban soccer moms can feel good about voting for them. Harris County suffers for it.
