Thanks. I have been following these snake threads for years. Just never posted any of my finds. I am passionate about just about anything to do with the outdoors. I am a pretty hardcore hiker. I spend 5 days a week in the woods when I'm not working. I have tons of pictures and videos of all sorts of animals, insects and exotic plants and flowers. I will post any cool snakes I come across in the future.

Ran Goodwater loop around Lake Georgetown today. Almost stepped on this fella. Around 14". You can tell he is a juvenile due to his small rattle.Everytime rattlers shed their rattle grows.



Bonus:



I run the loop once/week and will bring my camera. See at least 1 juvenile or adult rattlesnake every time (usually sunning on the trail in the AM) I do the loop. I will post what I see here.

Go back and look at the 2021 thread where I got bit by one. That bill still is in dispute 14 months later - just a quick $25k ER bill with zero anti-venom administered.

Well I'm not as good with snakes outside of Texas but I think it is a Western Terrestrial Garter Snake or one of its subspecies.
