Cheapest I could find on Gas Buddy was $3.49, but the last reported price was yesterday. I saw cheaper than that yesterday. If I could find the $3.41, I bet it would be a price that hasn't been updated.

Are we supposed to be celebrating higher gas prices being less higher than a while ago yet still significantly higher than before Trump's war?

Cause if so, I'm gonna need Kool-Aid, lots and lots of it. And a giant straw, the curly ones, por favor. Might as well have fun with it before the long goodnight.

No worries. You only have to worry about it until Tuesday to try and influence people to vote Cuban-style socialist.

Me?

Nah, I'll leave that to Trump and all of his policies and actions. Believe me, if the left wins both chambers, it's not as if it's going to be liberals who bring about Cuban-style socialism on election day; it'll be everyone to the right of center who feel Trump failed them. You know, non-maga conservatives.

We would not be here if it wasn't for Trump's debacle on his war with Iran compounded by his ridiculous decision to protect people over the JE stuff. Both his own decisions.

The businessman outsider that championed himself against the MIC and the swamp now embraces both!

Hard to run strong into the midterms on high fuel prices and a destroyed narrative that got you there in the first place.

Funny how every deranged liberal is now this extreme gas penny pincher, yet somehow paid no mind to it under Biden when gas costs were higher. Awfully strange how that works. If paying $30-$40 more per month on gas is gonna break your bank, then it's maybe time to reevaluate either your job or your other wasteful spending.

And yes, we voted for low gas prices, not this. That's why the OP is still getting laughed at all these months later.

My point still stands. If prices go down in a few months and it results in a deal where these crazy Islamist radicals will never threaten our country again or else get nuked to smithereens, then I'm perfectly ok paying $30-$40 extra per month to fill up my tank. If this continues into 2027, then I think people have a good right to be concerned. I am not in the strategy meetings with Trump and our military, but I'm betting they're not just winging it hoping that everything works out for the best. I've seen explanations from people a lot smarter than I am on geopolitics that line out our strategy. You can take a look for yourself if you'd like. Not saying they're going to be 100% accurate in the end, but I'm at least giving this a few more months to play out before hitting the panic button.

Are you saying if Iran makes that promise, or 50 years down the road we look back after they make the promise and actually followed through?

Promises from Iran mean very little to me, especially if it's the same or very similar regime in control. It would be a "I'll believe it when I see it" situation. I don't understand what would be different in the scenario you're laying out vs past attempts at controlling the regime. They cannot be trusted so a promise means very little.

If the Trump Administration could articulate the reason this war was necessary now, while also addressing the seeming contradiction it implies vs the statements made after Operation Midnight Hammer in 2025, I think it would go a long way to getting people to accept the price of the war. As it stands, it feels like hand waiving about "imminent nuclear threat" with an awful lot of smoke that it was Israeli influence that got us to give the go-ahead.

I understand we can't disclose every piece of intelligence, and I wouldn't expect them to. But this is a situation where you need a President to be Presidential. He should have had a live broadcast from the Oval Office near the beginning of the war explaining as much detail as is possible about the credible threats and the need to initiate this conflict. Instead, we got a late night video message from Trump in a baseball cap with very little information, just broad statements that have been true for decades. He talked about imminent threats but also talked about 47 years of threats. What is different this time? Why is now the time to strike? Are we settling an old score or worried about something new?

Also, it would have been helpful to explain that the administration recognized that this war will have a price associated with it beyond just the cost of warheads. Instead, they acted like this would be a swift victory with little to no downside for Americans. It makes it feel like ****show instead of a plan that is being executed.

I literally just said that I do not agree with everything Trump has done or will do. However, I'm waiting to see how this all plays out before I come to the conclusion that it was a terrible idea. If an agreement is reached where we will never have to worry about the terrorists in Iran killing another U.S. citizen or striking any of our allies without dire consequences to their country, then a few months of paying higher gas prices will be worth it. If that doesn't happen, then I will change my tune. Trump shouldn't have given a hard and fast timeline as to when this would be over, especially when dealing with a terrorist regime. If this is still going on well through 2027, then I will change my tune on all of it. I'm willing to let it play out to see what happens, given something happens in the relatively near future that will have a positive impact on our country.

So now we have someone trying to gaslight (heh) us into not calling this a war in defense of high gas prices?

Good grief.

Trump got us stuck in another ME war and it f'ed with the global oil market bigly and still hasn't fully recovered. Thems the facts. Sure there are other factors over this time, a market this large has tons of variables and influences. Yet, there is no denying that this Iran WAR was the catalyst AND the biggest contributor.

How are we still arguing about this??

So Bibi tells Trump what is going to happen and leads or Trump.

Lindsey G traveled to meet with Bibi on more than one occasion and then with the president. It was not a surprise attack by Israel.

Trump gave the green light. What Rubio said was not wrong but Trump could have told him Bibi no. This is his debacle from the start.
