The solution would be for Trump to end the Ukraine war. It was probably one of the most stated things he said he would do on DAY ONE! Finding an end the other war he started would be a solution too.

If this isn't resolved soon it will likely go beyond that and into significant economic and human effects. I don't think it can be resolved now anytime soon. This was an unforced error. We can argue all day over why Trump did this, but it is going to have serious consequences.

What's kind of funny is this thread started out as one thing and had morphed into a daily reminder of this disaster.

My interest in the diesel price has been driven by the fact that diesel exhibits less elasticity of demand relative to price. If the gasoline price rises, I can cancel my driving vacation to Yellowstone. The truck driver who delivers my strawberries is not going to cancel the delivery of my strawberries. He is going to charge more for my strawberries.

We should just claim victory, drop the blockade and walk away from Iran. Iran wants peace too, can claim victory as well, and go back to how it was before the war.

Gas prices would drop $0.50 a gallon overnight.

Good thing we aren't in the start of the corn harvest season. We wouldn't want the cost of $6 diesel to trickle down into fed beef, dog food, ethanol, biodegradable plastics, fracking fluid, antiobiotics, batteries, etc

There is corn still standing in the fields in central and south Texas because there's no bin space for it. Crop that should have been picked by August 15 is still in the fields.

Spot on. If they don't get this one fixed quickly, it will affect the price of virtually every product on the market and have a significant negative impact to the economy. Businesses small and large will not be able or willing to absorb this higher cost for long.
