I always mention the promo discounts to explain the actual price and what I paid. Yes, I am talking about the 7-Eleven at MLK and Guadalupe, and 411 W MLK Jr is the address.

The new set price in our town in SE Ohio is now up to $4.40. Yesterday it was $3.99 so only 40 cent hike this time.

We're really celebrating only 8 gas stations in all of Texas being lower by a couple of pennies?

Gas 3.69 diesel 4.99 right now by me. I guess I could drive 200+ miles to one of those top 8 gas stations to fill up.

Just out of curiosity, when we are discussing gasoline prices here, are we taking account straight gasoline or gasoline-ethanol blends? Also, are they for top tier gasoline?

One time in Oklahoma, I noticed that the price across the street was substantially lower than the gas station I stopped at. It turned out that the gas station I stopped at was a top tier gasoline with very little or no ethanol in the gasoline while the one across the street had a lot of ethanol.

Also, because of the cleansers, I do not happily fill up with anything but a top tier gasoline. I would rather pay for good gasoline now than have to pay for repairs caused by engine damage later that only meets the minimum requirements.

Ethanol mandates have increased gas prices and caused engine wear, no doubt. It's Iowa-midwestern politics though, both sides play it.

We are really in a net golden era of energy costs though, which could get much better with nuclear power etc.

I'm seeing about $3.55 in Austin, today. I think that Abbot and Paxton win at anything under $4.00 on Labor Day.

Amusingly, I pulled into 7-11 on MLK today, in response to this thread, to check the price.

The only time that I have bought gas in the United States in August, I was in Munich.

It was a little more expensive. I want to say that I paid $8/gallon.
