Just waited in about 100 car line to pay $3.85 at a Sam's Club. 50 cents cheaper than anything else in town.

Where are you? I paid $3.16 at the Sam's near Ft. Worth (White Settlement) last Saturday

If I was paying $3.85, then I wouldn't have made the trip. Seriously, get the Gas Buddy app and start saving $$$

Ohhh, you meant feeling superior because its a "white" thing. Didn't catch the bold lettering and now I just feel stoopid...

Do you willingly get in the longest line at the grocery store too?

Gas Buddy app shows gas for $3.16 at Sam's Club near me.

Obviously, you just need to move to the couple of places posted on this thread that are actually <$3 and not the other 99.9% of places >$3.

Gas is at $3.26, and dropping. Sorry, it's still vastly lower than Biden's average.
Quote:

Under President Joe Biden the national average price of regular gasoline ran substantially higher than in the prior Trump years, with widely cited estimates putting the average around $3.60 per gallon across his term and spikes that pushed national weekly averages above $5.00 in 2022

And Kamala woulda made it even higher, no doubt.

Biden and Kamala shouldn't be our measuring stick. That's pathetic. If all we got is "well, he's not Biden or Kamala", then he's still trash.

Straw man. The idea is still that this fruitless war has led to increased prices. Americans have been hurt more by this war than they have been helped.

I know, we can't allow Iran to have a nuke. Show me some proof that (other than something the White House says and we are expected to accept at face value) this war was the only way to stop them from getting a nuke and that it was imminent. I'm sure I'll be waiting a while.

Here are the results thus far:

No regime change. Nuclear dust under the rubble. Dead Americans. Dead civilian Iranians. Likely a worse attitude towards the US among Iranian citizens. Higher prices for Americans. Strait of Hormuz still not fully open. SPR at/near the operational minimum.

So the goal is only to be slightly better than trash? The bar is so low it's in hell.

Trump is better than the last four presidents and the opposition parties candidate. He's the best we've had since Reagan. And that says a lot more about the ones we've had to deal with if Trump is better.

Hopefully we can get a Rubio, Vance or Desantis in there in 28.

I'm happy it's at least 40 cents better than your boy did (peepaw term avg). $2.28 (his lowest avg this term) is a tough metric to hold him to but I don't care if some folks want to think he can only lower the cost in the face of commies/islamists such as are running California, leading to refineries closing etc. I'm pretty sure no blue state has cut gas taxes to 'help the consumers' this year.

Anyone who wants lower gas prices should never even consider voting for a democrat, full stop.

The usual let's try to slam someone as a democrat because you think it proves your point. I never voted for Biden and you should know that. My point is someone that thinks we should celebrate a one day drop in prices is trying to put lipstick on a pig.

Well I apologize I can't keep track of who all is a 'concerned moderate' or 'conservative' or anything 'else' on this thread as it has so many lamentations about gas prices today being all Trump's fault and horrific/the end of the world. Wasn't really intended to be a reply to you, respectfully, just posted in a rush.

Yet another instance of adding to the discussion, I guess. Gas futures off 1 percent to $3.23 to date today.

I think they follow more what's going on with the Strait of Hormuz

(One of) the above poster holds me in contempt I guess but traffic is getting better and better.

Quote:

Oman and Iran just put a name to the framework that's been rumored for weeks.

Foreign ministers Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Seyed Abbas Araghchi agreed on a phased plan to restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, starting with a joint temporary navigational corridor and a joint project to clear mines left over from the recent war.

It's a real shift from where Iran stood as recently as July, when it was publicly rejecting any foreign role in de-mining the Strait and insisting it could secure shipping alone.

The 2 sides say technical talks continue toward a permanent corridor and a real administration mechanism, traffic management, information sharing, security services, and both stressed the plan still needs buy in from other Gulf states before it goes further.

This is the clearest sign yet that Hormuz is moving from crisis management to an actual operating framework.

Gas prices will steadily (though of course not continuously) fall thru early November at least.

Typical first grade cope. People are upset because Trump promised no new wars and to lower prices during his 24' campaign. He has failed bigly at both. Using College Station gas prices as example - prices were down to $2.11 before the Iran war, good Trump. Then for whatever reason, with no plan or exit strategy, Trump starts bombing the hell out of Iran. Gas in CS almost got up to $4.00 and is hovering around $3.40 right now. The world is still not any closer to preventing a nuclear Iran and all we've wasted is US lives and money. Trump said the US would be there a few weeks. He has no plan for Iran. Prices have not come down and rising gas prices aren't going to help that.
