Now, see, what he had ACTUALLY meant was… something less stupid. You'd realize this if you didn't have TDS.

So in the video he says they agree because he says so because that war is a disaster! Well the problem with credibility is when you also have your own war that is a disaster!

One cannot lose that which one has never possessed.

Nobody is building a refinery
There is a shortage because there are 2 wars going on and when they get resolved refined products will be adequate available

The invisible hand of the market dictated that new refining capacity was not necessary and it was not built

This is an actual embarrassment for our nation. Don 2.0 has been an abject disaster on the global stage and this is starting to feel like bunker mentality from him.

Declare victory in Iran, leave. That is the clear step one in fixing this mess. Doesn't matter if it is a fake victory or not. Just get out. Best time was like four months ago. Next best time is now. The oil markets won't recover in time to salvage the midterms of course or even next year probably but it may give the '28 nominee a life raft. Or at least not an anchor.

The best thing Trump could do would be to put his ego aside and do things like you mentioned that will at least help the GOP in '28.

Now, do I think Trump is capable of putting his ego aside? No, not by a long shot, but stranger things have happened. I honestly can't think of what, but I'd like to imagine a possibility.

What won't help Trump, or the GOP, is if the left wins what people think they will and Trump uses, "I was going to end the war with Iran in such-a-such way but the Dumbocrats..." as a way to save face and blame things on the left.

He needs to own this, end it, and move on.

You hate to see it. But you also love to see it.

Speaking of seeing it, if it weren't probably illegal, I'd love to see what he was showed to make him enter this bs war.

In the 2024 Republican presidential primary, if you had to bet on who was the most likely to be best friends with the MIC, start a war with Iran, further destabilize the ME, not have the ability to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war, and roll into the midterms with ridiculously high fuel prices, the money would have likely been on Nikki Haley.

Definitely not DJT.

But here we are with no solutions in sight!

Significant refining capacity has been built in the last 10 years - almost all in Asia. Meanwhile, several U.S. refineries were shut down - including a few in California. Now, there are several projects for new refining capacity in the U.S. Gulf Coast. Will they all get built? Probably not, but I expect some will. But it takes at least 3-4 years to come online. Repairing damaged refineries also takes time, although not as long.
