He thinks he can still calm the market (and lower oil prices) with social media messages about fake deals.

WTI is off a buck to $101.

Still dropping. My guess is it WTI will be below $100 today. Brent is down 2.5% thus far today.

The Saudis announced increased capability to get oil out of Hormuz via tanker transfer. Seemed to have eased some of the supply worries.

The oil markets have been trading on vibes so who knows what happens later today.

At what point does the public realize that this isn't going to be fixed anytime soon and start panic buying ramen and toilet paper?

I would think things in Europe would be the canary in the coal mine to let us know when things really hit the fan. Aren't most of the cars diesel? Plus their regulations / burdens driving up the cost of gas and lack of ability to produce on the scale we can. Would have to think things would blow up (metaphorically) over there before they do on our soil.

The solution is to reduce exports. There should be zero emoty tanks anywhere if we have enough capacity to export.
This isnt a complicated issue to solve.

CAs issues are their own due to decades of poor planning and outright hostility to O&G.

Well it would be in line with America First but probably not in line with big oil.

For a moment I thought that post was from June. Well, June, July, or August.

I guess we're in the rinse and repeat part of this war now.

The warning will get us a few days maybe a week or two before we feel the hardcore impacts.

Once this financial downturn starts, it's going to a wild ride watching governments around the world react/panic.

this little gem from the 15th would be catastrophic for Europe considering the Saudis just announced its halting oil shipments.

if these things come to pass it's shaping up to be a salty October

I'm pretty sure that is one recently hit in Russia. I don't think that one will affect us much since Russia is not exporting fuel anyways.

My concern is that once the dominos begin falling in Europe, the hits eventually begin taking place within the United States.

what is the world willing to pay to keep their citizens from rioting and going bsc? We export roughly 1.5 million barrels of diesel per day....300+ million per year. $130,000 per barrel...BOOM, national debt crisis solved!!
Socialists will be drooling over the prospects of nationalizing the O&G industry.

Both of the refineries listed in the embedded tweet are in Russia.

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/russias-syzran-saratov-oil-refineries-hold-after-drone-attacks-sources-say-2026-09-16/

The tweet incorrectly said they were in Saudi Arabia. People post random crap on X all the time and it gets picked up as fact by "analysts" who post impending doom alerts.

We order diesel in bulk for our delivery trucks. Just got the receipt from the driver. $6.022/gallon. 300 gallons

The problem with a diesel export ban is unless we exempt Canada (and make nice with them in general), they could cut off the oil our refineries need to make diesel in the first place.

And if China doesn't get pinched?

I mean, should our country, if not the world, be hoping that a country (China) that didn't start this thing with Iran by attacking them, be a solution to all of this with the still increasing prices of fuel?

We attacked, so we should be the ones responsible for the fix, not just the breaking.

The OP was wrong. The OP posted a picture of $2.96 gas they came across but what the OP said is:

Quote:

Trump is right. Gas prices will fall like a rock. Democheats worst nightmare is creeping upon them. Lower gas prices all summer and into the fall that will help the Republicans rebound.

Probably should fill up now and at least save before it goes up more tomorrow. The solution of Economic D-Day has not had any affects yet.

You realize CAN doesnt have a West-East pipeline. It all flows down through the US before going north again.
All we would do is shut the pipelines down and they'd get 0 deliveries. Its not a game of chicken they'd survive.

The solution is to finally get off our collective asses and start building more refineries, but we are about 50 years behind on that fix....
