Just paid $ 3.99/gallon at neighborhood Valero in far NW San Antonio.

Not exactly a winning number for the Republicans.

You have your party voters then you have the ones that vote based on how THEY are affected by the economy. Trump won over these voters who granted him a second term.

Funny memes probably are not going to work on them and when they can't afford to fill up their gas tanks at the gas station they really don't care who is using the batroooms at that time.

Ever notice how "the economy" is always harped on when a Republican is in office? Crickets when it's demonstrably worse while a Dim holds power.

I think Branco's cartoon pretty much sums it up.

Trump relentlessly beat the economy drum when Biden was in office including the GAS prices! This was why you had all the viral videos of purple hair people saying if you can't afford things to get a better job or move but don't vote for Trump! Live by the sword die by the sword in Trump's case on this one.

Didn't notice that. I thought people were pissed both times. But I guess we've had over 6 months of high fuel prices to piss people off this time.

The people that switched their vote from democrat to Trump didn't give a damn about open borders, trans issues an all the other social issues or they would never have switched in the first place. They didn't vote Trump and suddenly drink the MAGA koolaid. They voted in their own economic self interest. Why would it be any different now?

The attitude in the cartoon is projecting MAGA views onto swing voters, and swing voters don't really care about culture war stuff.

It is funny. I have no idea what end of town folks live on. Most don't wind up posting that, and also seem to fill up almost twice a week here, while lamenting downtown gas prices (where everyone knows it will be highest available). Heck, we have folks lamenting gas prices in the peoples republic of California even!

Maybe they drive for uber and never leave town, no idea. But helping folks by citing where in greater metro areas it can easily be determined the lower prices are via gas buddy is deemed...not good for some reason.

But we have folks all over the country, I realize. In Atlanta, GA right now it's available from $3.06. (Georgia suspended their gas tax, fwiw).

2 of last 3 democratic presidents came to power after an unpopular and mainly republican war heavily damaged the economy. Last dem president came to power after the Trump administration poorly managed the Covid crisis.

Both iraq wars ( especially the 2nd) were heavily unpopular with the American people and the Iran war speaks for itself.

Which begs the question…. When was the last time a democrat actually inherited a good economy from a republican president? Obama left Trump a pretty good one and Trump was able to build off it. Im not sure, but I think I remember the economy grew nearly 100 months in a row from 2010-2019.

They suspended it here in Ohio too and gas dropped to $3.70/gal. It's now safely back to $4.20 so our local retailers are happy people.

Average in Ohio seems to be $3.85-4.05, so you might be getting ripped off locally, fyi.

I don't see what's so funny. At one point, 10,000 Americans were dying of covid on a daily basis. Meanwhile, the government and right wing podcasters were launching all of these crazy culture war type distractions which just made it worse. Such as mask vs no mask, social distancing, shot or no shot, stimulus or no stimulus, unemployment check availability, when the kids would go back to school.

Seems like we fought over everything. It's not far fetched to say another administration with a clear plan would have performed better because it seemed like all the Trump administration did at the time was fan the flames .

2 weeks before the midterms !
So now it's really down to 2 more weeks or less.

High interest rates, high fuel prices.
Definitely not the formula Trump wanted.

Dying WITH Covid, no OF Covid. The data is clear.

Masks didnt work so why bring it up? Social distancing was a political stunt not based on science, Democrats used it like crazy to control people, unless you where protesting. Cant go to the beach, its too dangerous!!!

Sending kids back to school even though Democrats and union drones didnt want it was the wright choice for the kids.

Remember that Biden Whitehouse post saying the unvaccinated where in for a Winter of Death? You probably forgot.

You talk about the Trump administration, why dont you be consistent with Bidens administration "fanning the flames".

You mean culture war things like ghetto trash BLM marching in the streets and spreading it? Things like that?

Was Covid only a problem in the US? Surely it was since it was all trumps fault.
