Anecdotal and only opinion: This summer left a job as the director of macro at a mid-sized PE firm, where one of our biggest PortCos was a big helicopter transport company. Second largest unavoidable cost, after crew salary, is jet fuel/kerosene. Chatting with my former analysts today, they are not pricing in any fuel relief at least through the end of the year and they're still buying hedges out to Feb

PE firms are the devil, but they don't get to be worth billions by making bad bets

Can someone please remind me why I'm still paying $3.89 in DFW for a two week war that ended months ago.

Trump is right. Gas prices will fall like a rock. Democheats worst nightmare is creeping upon them. Lower gas prices all summer and into the fall that will help the Republicans rebound.

Many Democrats I have conversed with over the last 2-3 months don't mind the Iran operation to end just not too soon. They wanted it to end maybe around October time frame no sooner than August.

They don't want the American people to start feeling good again and affording gas.

Sticking to the OP of this thread Trump was WRONG! Now his SOLUTION is to wait till AFTER the midterms and THEN he says gas prices will fall. The reasons for this miscalculation are because Iran did not 100% surrender and capitulate as he stated and now he can't get the once open strait back OPEN the way it was to begin with.

So the solution to less than $3 gas prices now according to the president is coming after the midterms.

[You should pay more attention to our staff notes in this thread -- Staff]

[We're going to keep this to a discussion on gas prices, trends, supply disruptions, and potential solutions. To the extent the Iran conflict influences those items, it's fair game for discussion, but we're going to remove any posts that are derails, like Trump is a dummy (or a rock star) as it derails the thread. Take that discussion to a different thread please -- Staff]

RBV6 up to $3.31 already this morning, that is a 3% hike.
Can anyone explain how blendstock over $3 will equal less than $3 retail?

You just don't understand the master plan here TDS nut!!

Paid $5.91 for diesel and saw multiple stops between CS and DFW with $6.05+ diesel.

Remember - real patriots can appreciate high grocery prices and high gas prices. Figure it out snow flake.

The sign for $9.99 sent gas is visible at the intersection of two policy failures.

The price is posted at the corner of Green Street and Imperial Hubris Boulevard. Strangely, both are dead-end roads.

Maybe we should have a separate thread for 'Democrat state gas price insanity.' 'Cap and invest' is working out great for their serfs.

Easy to see Iran doesn't want a deal. They have Trump by the balls and they know it.

The oil stocks aren't really reacting despite today's actions. That could be a sign we're topping out. The stocks usually front run

FIFY.

I was paying $8/gallon last month in Munich.

The Europeans have it worse than we do. I was hearing $10/gallon in Holland, IIRC.

I was in Europe in May of this year and last year. Prices were up about 0.10 Euro over what it was a year ago, that's a little over $0.40 USD. At the time, US regular unleaded was right around $4/gal in Texas.

The Euros have had increases, but not as much as we have. I'm not sure what the current prices are. When I was there, it was around 2 Euro/liter.

From what I understand California libs love high gas prices because they think it'll encourage more EVs. I imagine libs over there are secretly rejoicing.

Don't agree with trying to force people into EV's, but EV's and increased fuel efficiency have helped reduce gasoline demand. Gas could be more expensive otherwise.

There are reports that the Houthis damaged the East-West pipeline. Also 2 vessels going to the Omani route have been hit. That likely explains the run up today.

China slowed down their refining because they couldn't get crude. But now that diesel is almost double the price of crude, China is increasing crude purchases. So this will increase the price of crude but if additional supplies hit the market, product prices can stall. $100/ bbl spread cant be sustainable for long.

China had a refined exports ban but with margins this good, they are free market capitalist now.

What inflation. We spiked the $3.00 gas football months ago.
