VLad Putin to the rescue!!!

So we are now funding the Russian war machine?

Yes.

It is black and white with no real nuance. Trump found his way to do it finally I guess. He clearly chose his side of that war even before he took office this second time around. I legitimately think he idolizes Putin and always has.

That aside though, this isn't going to really move the needle on the global market in terms of supply. I think this is just an optics grab by Trump here at the finish line for the mid terms. Makes it look like he is Doing Something and shift focus away from Iran as much as possible. I mean, did we even get anything in return? At all? Not very artsy for the deal if not.

You can't help but chuckle bitterly that the two things that was supposed to be on lock during Trump's reign is probably going to be the swing issue for the mid terms and beyond. Low gas prices and not getting into neverending wars going nowhere in the Middle East...

3x voter here. Can't wait for this term to be over.

Well, maybe. I again don't expect too much to come from this.

Some good news, in any case.

Not surprising that tankers of diesel can arrive that quickly. Black market Oil is floating around everywhere in the shadow fleet

Now that the US has eased sanctions the tanker can dock here and get closer to full price for its cargo

Instead of buying the diesel we should be impounding the tanker considering how efficiently we blew up Venezuelan drug boats we could be going after the shadow fleet but that would be inflationary and anger Xi and Putin

I just want gas/diesel to get cheaper, something I think most agree with. Just another 80/20 issue Democrats oppose I think, vs. the American people.

The hurricane bearing down on the gulf I think is putting some speculative fear back into prices this weekend.

I never expected Trump to fulfill many of his campaign promises but not starting a war in the Middle East was one of the few promises i expected him to keep

Iran and Russia are supporting each other so by helping Putin he is also helping the Iranian regime. I understand the politics involved and Trump is trying to avoid a blowout a loss in 3 weeks but is this move really going to help in the long run because He is making policy that directly benefits Russia and Iran for what I am guessing will be a less than a 10% drop In Diesel prices.

He should be trying to end the war in Ukraine and exit the conflict with Iran

Yemen's Ansarullah has struck Saudi Arabia's Ghawar oil field, the world's largest oil field, with a ballistic missile.

Ghawar is the world's largest conventional onshore oil field, stretching about 280 km across Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. It holds more than 58 billion barrels of oil equivalent in proven reserves and has historically produced more than 5 million barrels of oil per day.

Quote:

Ghawar (Arabic: ) is an oil field located in Al-Ahsa Governorate, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Measuring 280 by 30 km (170 by 19 mi) (some 8,400 square kilometres (3,200 sq mi)), it is by far the largest conventional oil field in the world, and accounts for roughly a third of the cumulative oil production of Saudi Arabia as of 2018.

Ghawar is entirely owned and operated by Saudi Aramco, the state-run Saudi oil company. In April 2019, the company first published its profit figures since its nationalization nearly 40 years ago in the context of issuing a bond to international markets. The bond prospectus revealed that Ghawar is able to pump a maximum of 3.8 million barrels (600,000 m3) per daywell below the more than 5 million barrels (790,000 m3) per day that had become conventional wisdom in the market.

Global total daily consumption of diesel fuel is approximately 3.7 to 3.8 million metric tons per day (based on a global demand exceeding 28 million barrels per day). [1, 2]

Key Breakdown Details
  • Daily Barrel Volume: Exceeds 28 million barrels per day globally. [1, 2]
  • Annual Volume: More than 1.4 billion metric tons are consumed worldwide annually. [1]
  • Primary Sectors:
    • Transportation & Freight: Accounts for over 62% of total diesel utilization.
    • Industrial Applications: Accounts for roughly 18% to 27%.
    • Power Generation: Accounts for about 11%

Whoop!!! Trump did it, he made deal for a few hours worth of total global consumption........

I think you caught it this time but just for clarification on the first tweet; This is further upstream from Saudi refineries from Abqaiq stabilization tanks.

I highly doubt a single SRBM has a material/tangible impact on this enormous oil field. And loadings resumed at Abqaiq yesterday, after expats had been sent home out of precaution.

Big shift from ending the Ukraine war in the first day in office to now making deals with Putin to release sanctions in order to attempt to ease prices. I can't imagine the things he'd had said if idiot Biden had done that!

He's seeking solutions because nothing has been working and people are not happy with his results.

$3.91 over here in the LBK.

Still closer to $4 than $3.

And we haven't won the war with Iran.

Those things would make sense, but I have a very strong suspicion that when historians look into those things not being done to the extent to which they could, Wall Street and the MIC will be found to be big factors as to why.

Yea! North Carolina is temporarily suspending the 41 cent/gal road use tax charged on gas!

Strangely, gas prices at the pump do not seem to have dropped 41 cents/gal. I also wonder why they are doing this now, and why for only 55 days. And I sure hope cutting off a major source of revenue does not negatively impact the state highway budget.

I have no idea why states do this. Time and again the gas stations just keep the tax amount as profit.

Because war in ME is escalating. This increases the war premium on oil. In addition a VLCC carrying Saudi crude struck a mine today.

Prices come down when things calm down over there. They are not calming down.

Prices will not come down because of Trumps deal. With Ukraine attacking the port the oil was supposed to be shipped from we might not ever even get the diesel, which barely amounts to 1 days worth of usage anyway.

Im sure Trump probably prepaid for it though so daddy Putin can put our tax dollars to use propping up his war machine.

What would be the plan on that? Are they betting this is going to over in 2 weeks? Because it's hard to add that much back later and you can bet the add back is reflected fully in the price!
