Should be required that Americans do a primal MAGA yell while filling up their vehicles as we're told the money is going towards a patriotic cause.

Most of us already do. We also report to the MAGA overlords anyone caught not doing it. When you are truly in the cult, you learn these things. It's awesome.

And the suffering is reflected in record spending on air travel, gas and hotels and people take their suffering on the road this Labor Day going on vacations / road trips.

If people were "suffering", volumes would be down and they are at worst slightly higher than previous years, despite higher costs.

Most people are economically stupid. This isn't new.

They're suffering...less than if Biden/Harris won...but as long as there is room on the credit cards .... plural...."VACATION TIME!!".

This has been going on for years.

Disingenuous post. Of course people are spending more…gas is higher and that affects everything.

Also, that post doesn't breakdown spending. Fewer people have traveled this summer and those that do are spending more.

Business is also spending more on travel. Why? Because the cost of travel is higher thanks to gas.

You need to understand how privileged you are as an American. You are feeling virtually zero impact compared to Israelis overseas who fear for their life. Same with the Iranians harmed by regime.

Pay the $5 diesel and move on, or move to Iran I guess and you will be zillionaire. LOL

Sad thing is I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. An even sadder thing is there are many politicians and voters who actually feel this way.

My post addressed volume also being higher, not sure why you and 10 others ignore that then claim my post was "disingenuous".

Labor Day travel volume has not been impacted (or projected to be impacted) by higher costs. That is a clear sign that the average American is not suffering, as one of the FIRST things curtailed when people suffer financially is discretionary travel, which was clearly the point and genuineness of my post.

FALSE. You oversimplified by not considering increased volume (demand) by global industry. We are dealing with world demand when the Strait of Hormuz is involved. That is why it was ignored by 10+ posters.

While this is anecdotal, occupancy at campgrounds in Yellowstone National Park since mid to late August has been significantly below average. Higher fuel cost appears to be the factor.

Your contention is Labor Day weekend travel volume is steady / higher for what reason? Business travel? And I am the one being disingenuous?

Gas prices seem to be having minimal to NO impact on (the VOLUME of) projected Labor Day travel.

You can use all the statistical feces you want to spin it however you want but that won't change these two facts:

1. Gas/Diesel prices are higher after we attacked Iran.
2. Americans aren't traveling as much and those that do, are paying more.

It is as simple as that.
